19afc03 Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Not a chance Bernard is anywhere near our worst midfielder. When you consider that we paid £1,000,000 for him then i believe it puts him top of the list! Quote
dave_min Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 When you consider that we paid £1,000,000 for him then i believe it puts him top of the list! Myth. Quote
19afc03 Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Myth. I'd be interested to know why you say it's a myth. Quote
dave_min Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 I'd be interested to know why you say it's a myth. We never actually paid £1,000,000 for him. We paid less, with the rest being made up on appearances, which he never managed to achieve. Or so the story goes anyway. Quote

BobbyBiscuit Posted December 21, 2009 Author Report Posted December 21, 2009 When you consider that we paid £1,000,000 for him then i believe it puts him top of the list! You're talking about value for money. not the same thing as the actual worst player. He had some very good games for us and was player of the month once, more than can be said for Brian O'Neil, for example. Dave min - Jess re-signed for us pre-2000 Quote

Madbadteacher Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Quality contribution. Had this been the end of the 80's no doubt you'd have said the same for Willie Miller. No. But Anderson was/is/never will be the fucking saviour of AFC He was AVERAGE in a pretty SHITE team Quote
RDU_64 Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 No. But Anderson was/is/never will be the fucking saviour of AFC He was AVERAGE in a pretty SHITE team I dont quite understand your point. It's the naughties. In that period of time (2000-2009), Anderson, without a shadow of a doubt was the best defender and arguably the best player. Nobody even mentioned him being the fucking saviour of AFC Quote

BobbyBiscuit Posted December 21, 2009 Author Report Posted December 21, 2009 No. But Anderson was/is/never will be the fucking saviour of AFC No one suggest he was, is or ever will be. Don't quite get why you're directing apparent aggression towards someone who was a very good player and a player who regularly put his neck on the line for us. He was AVERAGE in a pretty SHITE team One out of two. Must do better. Quote
Kowalski Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Anderson was our best player over that period, but surely Booth, Jess and McNaughton were better home grown talents. Quote

Kowalski Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Helluva tough midfield to get past there BB! Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted December 21, 2009 Author Report Posted December 21, 2009 Helluva tough midfield to get past there BB! Deloumeaux and Nicholson to create and the other two to win the ball for them. If anyone gets passed those two, fear not, the saviour of Aberdeen will be waiting for them, sitting in his deck chair with a shotgun... Quote
Stewart Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 I completely forgot about Deloumeaux. Always so casual, but brilliant. Quote

maverick sheep Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 I forgot Jess played for us in the 00s. I'll take out Aluko and put in Jess I thought about Jess but I also thought the same about Leighton. My reasoning for having neither in my list was that both were magnificent their first spell here but not that great second time around. Quote
minijc Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Deloumeaux and Nicholson to create and the other two to win the ball for them. If anyone gets passed those two, fear not, the saviour of Aberdeen will be waiting for them, sitting in his deck chair with a shotgun... Didn't realise McGhee was a good defender... Joking, obviously but I do like your midfield, I think the last two season of Seve pissed me off and I let it cloud my judgment when picking my team, I really like Eric, remember his belting goal at Motherwell from 30+ yards. Quote
manc_don Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Excellent team there BB though I would swap Stavrum for Booth. Imagine having that midfield today...would be the stuff of dreams, especially with Aluko and Pawlett coming off the bench Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted December 22, 2009 Author Report Posted December 22, 2009 was never a big fan of Arild,to be honest manc. Thought Booth was excellent when he came back to us, really intelligent player. Always had the ability and I reckon he came back a better player. Just a shame he was in Paterson's team. Quote
Kowalski Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Thought Booth was excellent when he came back to us, really intelligent player. Ptayles Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Deloumeaux's free kick against the huns up here was a peach! Quote
