Just because we're getting some shitey horrifically expensive construction in the heart of our city that we don't need but we're still humming and heying about a bridge that we've needed for fucking ever that costs a fraction of the price of UTG? Superstar Tradesman Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 The decision will allow the local authority to proceed with the £15.8million project, which has been mooted in various forms since the 1960s. Quote
Kowalski Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 City bypass appeal flawed from start, says judge By Ryan Crighton Published: 28/03/2012 Scottish judges found that William Walton’s appeal against the Aberdeen bypass was flawed from the beginning. Lords Clarke, Bonomy and Philip ruled against him at the Court of Session last month, saying the basis of his case was “misconceived”. They also said Mr Walton was “not entitled” to halt the project in the circumstances, because he does not live close enough to the route. Well there's a fucking surprise Quote
Kowalski Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 For fuck's sake: http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/Article.aspx/2699444/ RESSURE group RoadSense will launch a fresh court challenge to the Aberdeen bypass – if it can raise £100,000 in three days. The Press and Journal can reveal today that the objectors want to take their fight against the city’s Western Peripheral Route to the Supreme Court in London. The Scottish Government is ready to start building the highway – but a fresh appeal could delay work for years. It's about time this lot were run out of town Quote

Kowalski Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 New bid to block Aberdeen bypass Legal bid to be launched within days By David Ewen chief reporter Published: 05/04/2012 THE fight against Aberdeen’s bypass is set to continue. The chairman of opposition group Road Sense is to lodge a challenge at the UK Supreme Court within the next few days. The decision could result in a further delay of up to nine months in building the 28-mile dual carriageway. I hope this cunt can sleep easy at night. I'm surprised he makes it to the shops without somebody starting on him. Quote
glasgow sheep Posted April 5, 2012 Author Report Posted April 5, 2012 Can they send him the bill for the inevitable massive over spend? Quote
Tyrant Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 I hope this cunt can sleep easy at night. I'm surprised he makes it to the shops without somebody starting on him. Must have happened already. I feel like driving to his hoose right now for a square go. Quote

Madbadteacher Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 Just build the fucker then let them complain Quote
tom_widdows Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 Can anyone summarise his actual objections to the project Is his house being cleared Arther Dent style? Is his business or land being swallowed up? I ask because the press reports I see merely state he thinks the public either werent consulted properly or the route is flawed. If it is the latter has be proposed an alternative route which will meet all his criteria or is he just against completley against it ergo likes the congestion at the Hadigan roundabout, Brig o Dee, Anderson Drive etc etc It seems the latest appeal is in his name only so does that mean his Road sense cronies have abandoned him? This reminds me of the boy who challenged Aberdeen councils proposal to put wheelie bins on the streets to stop seagulls tearing up the bin bags. Said they were ugly etc and eventually won some sort of victory in the courst meaning the Wheelie bins were not installed on his street. A couple of months later when the seagulls seemed to have bought flats in the street and turned it into a landfill he went crawling back to the council who told him he'd have to personally pay for each bin. Quote
Tyrant Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 Nah Road Sense are still behind him apparently. I seem to remember him moaning his hoose was too close but apparently a previous appeal was thrown oot because the judge decided he didn't live close enough to the planned route. Quote

glasgow sheep Posted April 18, 2012 Author Report Posted April 18, 2012 I think there are flaws with the design (round about at Stonehaven ffs) but not enough to stop the fucking thing getting built. Quote

capitalsharpie Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 I believe they are objecting this time on a point of principle. Apparently Tavish Scot forced through this route so as not to affect another lib dum (nicol steven) property. Ergo their arguement is the cosultation process is null and void. Forgetting that in the meantime everyone in the NE has to suffer A 'grade A' cunt indeed Quote
mizer Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 Third appeal lodged by William Walton according the the P&J. The Scottish Government has confirmed that the scheme is once again on hold. x a fucking million. WILLIAM Walton’s appeal against the Aberdeen bypass appeared to be all but over last night after a court order left his legal team on the verge of quitting. Supreme Court judges have agreed to shield the university lecturer from the majority of the Scottish Government’s legal bill – which is expected to reach £80,000 – if he loses in his third attempt to stop the £400million road. But in a shock twist, the order they made also limited the amount the government has to pay – a decision that means Mr Walton will be able to hire only one advocate instead of two. Quote
