glasgowdon Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 Airdrie for me. I'm in Glasgow for the evening that day and I might be able to sneak away for the game if it's in Airdrie. Quote
mizer Posted January 10, 2010 Author Report Posted January 10, 2010 Been to Kirkcaldy before but not to a Raith game, but never been to Airdrie (outwith passing through in the car). Airdrie on paper would be the easier game. Quote
dave_min Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 Don't mind. Delighted with this draw though. If I was pushed i'd say Raith, as Airdrie is a bit of an arse to get to Quote
Jute Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 Raith would be the better day out as can see Airdrie being a bit nasty. Quote
rocknroll Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 Raith, easiest to get to and think we would take a massive support. Quote
Ajja Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 Raith, easiest to get to and think we would take a massive support. I'm with that. Airdire is a fuck-hole and would bring out the evil in both supports. Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 I'm with that. Airdire is a fuck-hole and would bring out the evil in both supports. Seconded. Quote
Madbadteacher Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 I'd rather our support meant funds went to Raith Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 Raith would be the better day out as can see Airdrie being a bit nasty. It's all Airdrie is. Hate the place. Quote
manc_don Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 Raith for me. May try to make it up. airdrie are scum and as has been mentioned it would only bring out the worst in both supports. Quote
RDU_64 Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 Provisionally going to try and make it down wherever we play! Quote
tsr Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 On the park not fussed, would fancy us to take care of both, famous last words. Off it, Raith have got rid of the stand at the side in terms of being open so only one stand behind the goals, would be a tricky one tickets wise. Presumably if demand required it we would get two stands at Airdrie therefore more tickets and think a few less folk would fancy it. That said can see Airdrie being more entertaining off it so looking forward to finding out who it is. Quote
stoney Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 AIrdrie for me, better game, better atmosphere. Been too starks park before and have no wish to ever return Quote
maverick sheep Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Not too worried which. Airdrie easy to get to, Raith for the novelty (and playing against a team that legitimately belong in the league). Either way it's a tough tie but one we should win. Quote

If the former , if there were 5000 aberdeen fans wanting tickets ill bet they would dust it off pretty sharpish. Airdrie on the other hand only use 1 of their stands for home fans (capacity 3500). As with Raith Im pretty sure they would dust off the 6500 seats (Old firm allocation) if aberdeen wanted them. Quote
stubo72 Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Airdrie for me, as the missus and her father are both fans. (Of course that means I'd get pelters if we lost...) Hmmm... Maybe Raith would be better after all! Quote

tsr Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Yeah, think the seats have been taken out but could be wrong. Quote

glasgow sheep Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 fae mad: Regarding the away allocation I think you guys would only get the North stand which holds around about 3069. The Railway Stand hasn't been used for years as half of it (home half) doesn't have a safety certificate. The away section of the Railway Stand also has no seats as these were given away to KDY Ice Rink (not kidding here, they needed seats apparently). This section of the Railway Stand hasn't been used since we played Bayern Munich at Starks Park in a friendly to open the stadium (think that would of been 1996). You might get some of the main stand however I hope you guys are good at dodging pillars. Quote
RDU_64 Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Why is the Airdrie support disgusting? Quote
Jute Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Yeah, think the seats have been taken out but could be wrong. They been removed. End behind the goal holds about 3,000 though so that should be enough. Airdrie can still open the other stands if required so they should be able to give us as much as we need. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Why is the Airdrie support disgusting? A fair amount of "fans" with extreme right views who are not afraid of showing this side of themselves. Some of them turned up a game with KKK hoods because the opposition had a black guy playing for them (Gretna, I think it was). If you do a google/YouTube search for Airdrie Section B you'll probably understand pretty quickly why they're not particularly liked. Quote
BigAl Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Was there not a similar incident in a game versus Ayr Utd a few years back ? Quote
