jimmy Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 2 questions. Is this pay at the gate? and what pub will be good before the match? i'm bringing my bird to her first Aberdeen game. she supports arsenal, so i'd like her to experience what a real atmosphere is like. cheers! Quote
El Padre™ Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 It's pay at the gate. If you want to take her to a classy establishment pre-match then you should go to the Alamo. Quote
jimmy Posted January 10, 2010 Author Report Posted January 10, 2010 nice one. how far is the alamo from the ground? Quote
tsr Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 The Alamo is certainly one way of showing your bird a Scottish atmosphere Quote
rocknroll Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 Just noticed today we are playing on Tuesday. Quote
BigAl Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 Very much doubt she'll witness what a real atmosphere is like on Tuesday night. Think we'll struggle to have 500 there, and can't see total crowd exceeding 4,000 Quote
rocknroll Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 We took close to a thousand down last season for a midweek game did we not? After yesterday then I think we will take the same sort of crowd down, mind you don't know what the weather is going to be like the now.. Quote
tsr Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 I was at that game and not sure if it was a thousand but no real atmosphere at the game, most of the turn out was probably from the central belt where we have a healthy support Quote
Penfold Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 A lot of us have already travelled to this game once. It'll be quite a small crowd. Depending on what time we arrive it'll be the Weatherspoons at the train station or the Alamo. Quote
dave_min Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 If you're going to take her to the Alamo, you should phone ahead and book a table so you and her can get a nice meal before the game. Their food really is to die for. I won't be at the game though, I limit myself to one trip to Paisley a season. Quote
manc_don Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Ha ha dave_min thats just cruel Edit: on a side note, its a Shite ground and no atmosphere at all. I was cold as Fuck when i went last season. Quote

Anyone remember what was unique about that game Quote

mizer Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Tommy Wright right wrong? I think you've got it! Quote
Guest rocket debris Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 I think you've got it! I think you're right that I'm not wrong. How many has Tyson Wright scored anyway? Quote
tsr Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Was a great header its got to be said. Only other thing was our absymal attempt at winning the game. Quote
BigAl Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Tommy Wright right wrong? Spot on.....such a rare event, not exactly something you'd forget in a hurry In fairness it was a peach of a header Quote
BigAl Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Only other memorable thing from that night for me, was the fact it took me 90 mins to get back down the M77 because of the snow Quote
mizer Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Only other memorable thing from that night for me, was the fact it took me 90 mins to get back down the M77 because of the snow The snow flakes were gigantic! Quote
Guest rocket debris Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 The snow flakes were gigantic! How big? Quote
manc_don Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 The snow flakes were gigantic! Aye, that and Wrights goal were the only memorable things about that game. Though I recall Ajja maintaining that it was a fluke. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Mackie had a belter of a sitter after a brilliant run by Aluko. And there was an utter shambles before the game as you couldn't just pay at the gate, had to queue up at their box office which only had one person working at it. Quote
dave_min Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 And there was an utter shambles before the game as you couldn't just pay at the gate, had to queue up at their box office which only had one person working at it. It was always like that at Love Street too whenever I went there, always seemed to work pretty well too. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 there was a huge queue last time, everyone getting pissed off cos it was snowing and obviously very cold then the police got involved and things started moving. The stands are all of 5 rows deep as well... Quote
