ramsay ladders Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 He would be a big loss, however If the figure of £500k is accurate and we can use the cash to sign a striker and Jim O'Brien then I'd drive him to the airport myself, probably laughing all the way! Drive him? I'll carry him on my bloody shoulders all the way to Middilesbourgh if we get tha sort of cash. Quote
ramsay ladders Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 I just hope that any money we get from the sale of Miller goes straight back into McGhee's warchest, and not onto repaying any debts. Especially debts from failed chip shop ventures. Quote
maverick sheep Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 There's just no way any team anywhere on earth is going to pay half a million for an SPL striker who failed in England already, doesn't score prolifically and that they can get for free in 6 months. And no way MM is so daft as to spend any money whatsoever on Kevin bloody Kyle. BUT...just to go along with this fantasy for the sake of argument - as much as I want Lee Miller to stay at Aberdeen, I really can't see him signing a new contract and so half a million would enable us to get good quality players signed up for next season along with a possible loan til the end of the season as a replacement up front. Neither of those scenarios involve Kevin bloody Kyle coming anywhere near Pittodrie! Still though, it just sounds spectacularly unlikely. Quote
Ptayles Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 I would easy take 500 grand but only of the money goes towards players unlike previous instances. I would rather see him go at the end of the season if we dont take anyone in with the cash Quote
maverick sheep Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 Club website confirms Middlesbrow have made a bid. Half a mil would be great but would be surprised if the fee is anything other than 'undisclosed' Quote
willie_millers-barmyarmy Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 500,000 is a ridiculous figure, for a player who is out of contract and can go for nothing in a few months!!...we'd be mad not to take that!!!... Quote

Big time, but look at how much Strachan paid for Adam Virgo...who also just so happened to be at a club with huge debts managed by his best mate Mark McGhee.. Quote
quirie Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 No matter what people say we would miss him but if we are getting 500k just now instead of getting fuck all in the summer then take the money and run Quote
Kowalski Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 Is Strachan trying to do us a favour or something? Seems like a ridiculous price for a lazy bastard. Bite their hands off AFC!!! Quote
Madbadteacher Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 Only problem is that we're not really leaving a lot of time to get someone in. Because? Were we that much worse in the 3 games he was suspended for? Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 Because it's another player down. Pretty simple really. Quote
Stewart Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 I do think if he's off - which is looking pretty likely now - we need to get in 2 strikers rather than one. See there's a bit on the official site now saying that we've had a bid. Only a matter of time then. Quote
glasgow sheep Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 £500k? £50k on Mclean, same on O'brien. Then some spare for cover at the back and bit for the bank Quote

Sandaldinho Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 £500,000 will be closer to £50,000. nobody is going to pay that kind of money when they could just sign him up on a pre-contract Quote
