glasgow sheep
Games coming thick and fast at the moment. I dare say it is part of the reason we are struggling as Fyvie hasn't been so good (needed a rest) and Pawlett has been injured. Hopefully both lads and Aluko will start on Wed. Surely Zander will come in but it is anyones guess how MM will line up. I'd go for Langfield Foster Diamond© Mulgrew Paterson Pawlett Young Fyvie Aluko Mackie McLean
Guest ally s
How has Young been playing recently? If I were MM I'd be tempted to play Pawlett in the middle, along with Fyvie he's one of the few players we have who can put his foot on the ball and make a telling pass/contribution from midfield. tsr
Young has reverted to type, did not contribute anything on Saturday although by the same token was far from the worst player. Think we have to play our best 11 on Wednesday and if folk need resting on Saturday for the cup tie against Raith then so be it.

glasgow sheep
I saw on mad you were looking for tickets, I think we have a spare if you need it. Had been planning on just paying at the gate but apparently afc asked if they could send back unsold tickets (we only got 1000 in the first place!) for sale on the gate and hibs said no Anyway mizer you have a PM
tsr
When was that? I spoke to AFC earlier and they said unsold tickets were being returned at 4pm today.
glasgow sheep
When was that? I spoke to AFC earlier and they said unsold tickets were being returned at 4pm today. I emailed them this morning. Maybe hibs have stopped being cunts?
tsr
Not sure, I doubt there will be a cash gate, maybe they will sell them from a ticket booth or something, which stand is it that's shut prompting this cut in tickets anyway?
Kowalski
Aberdeen FC’s Foster to keep Hibs in check Player ready for Easter Road’s new Famous Five Published: 09/02/2010 CONFIDENCE: Richard Foster, left, insists Hibs can still be overhauled and Aberdeen FC climb up the league table. More Pictures RICHARD Foster insists Aberdeen FC will have no fear of Hibs’ new famous five at Easter Road tomorrow. On form Hibs have pulled 15 points clear of Aberdeen FC in third place, and Foster realises defeat in Edinburgh is not an option. He insists Hibs’ free-scoring attack of Anthony Stokes, Derek Riordan, Colin Nish, Merouane Zemmama and Abdessalam Benjelloun can be held at bay. Foster said: “We have more than enough in defence to cope with what Hibs’ attack has to throw at us. Although we have lost our last two league games we are going into this game with confidence. We aim to go down to Easter Road and cause Hibs problems.†We do?
tsr
What is the alternative for Foster to say, the defence is shit so we'll need to win 5-4?
dave_min
What is the alternative for Foster to say, the defence is shit so we'll need to win 5-4? To say nothing would have done fine.
Guest ally s
To say nothing would have done fine. Indeed, that would have made for a cracking interview. Foster is just trying to be positive and big up our chances (however slim). I'm sure folk would have plenty to say if he'd come out and said the exact opposite? Nothing wrong with talking up our team, especially when everyone in the media (and some fans) are forever berating them.
tsr
So the alternative to being positive is to give no interviews? Nice one.
dave_min
So the alternative to being positive is to give no interviews? Nice one. There's being positive, and there's talking absolute shite. Claiming "We have more than enough in defence to cope with what Hibs’ attack has to throw at us" falls into the second category.

Ajja
I think Foster is correct. Zander and Mulgrew with Foster and Paterson doesn't look like a bad defence to me. Mulgrew has been very good at CB and ZD is, well he is ZD. FBs are both competent footballers. What's the issue here ? Are we suddenly playing Barcelona ? Its fucking Hibs, lets not turn them into gods just because they can beat Montrose and Hamilton by 4 goals. Fair enough, they are having a good season but we have enough to cope, no question. We managed with 9 men for some distance.

Reekie_Red
Here's a radical idea, Foster. Why not tell the media "yeah, we're shit-scared of the Hibs strikers. Who wouldn't be? Even their substitute strikers are scoring for fun at the moment!" Say this to the press. That way, the Hibs strikers don't have extra motivational material to pin up on the dressing-room wall before the Aberdeen match. If secretly, you and your co-defenders are confident of upsetting Hibs, then go about this quietly. I'm sick to death of reading wind-up shit in the press that simply serves to motivate the opposition more than it does our own players. Seeing a "specialist" too apparently. Don't like the sound of this at all, but better to get him sorted out now and have him fully fit for the end of the season (or worst case scenario next season)

Kowalski
Aberdeen FC boss happy to wait for Pawlett Winger facing lengthy lay-off Published: 10/02/2010 ABERDEEN FC winger Peter Pawlett could face a lengthy lay-off if he requires knee surgery. Pawlett will see a specialist this week to come up with a cure for the injury, which has plagued him all season. Aberdeen FC Aberdeen FC McGhee admitted the 17-year-old could be out for two months if he needs an operation but says that’s a price worth paying to get Pawlett fit again. McGhee said: “If the specialist decides Peter’s knee could do with a little bit of a clean out, we will get it done now."
