Dons1903 Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 After the 3-1 defeat to falkirk, MM is doing his best with what he has to do, the board is not helping after sm said he would not pump any money into the club, what are your thoughts on this?? Quote
dave_min Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 Its a clear possibility, but I don't think it will happen. Quote
Kowalski Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 Far be it for me to suggest that it might be best for all parties... Quote
dave_min Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 He has walked away from jobs before but would show a lack of fight. I hope he doesn't. Same here, if he were to quit right now we'd be absolutely fucked. Quote
stubo72 Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 We seem to be stumbling from one disaster to another at the moment. I have been told that McGhee changed a lot of things when he came in that did not go down well with the squad, but then Mulgrew was quoted saying he had been great trying to get them all cheered up after the Raith game... Fuck knows what we are going to do, but if we don't pick up soon our season may not be over after all - relegation dogfight, here we come! Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 Can't see him resigning and I hope he doesn't. I actually feel quite sorry for him, his interview on BBC shows how much he does care about this club which is a damn sight more than can be said for a fair amount of the players. Quote
tsr Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 I think its a mixture of McGhee being a cock and the players undoubtedly been a bunch of knobs. Quote
glasgow sheep Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 I'm not convinced he has the dressing room with him. If he does he certainly isn't communicating his desire and ideas to the players. Given the prima donnas that habitually inhabit the Aberdeen Dressing Room I'm not sure what he can do to change this. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 Guys on mad saying they spoke to Langfield before the match and he was dropped, he didn't have a sore throat as the radio said and as you'd expect he is far from happy with MM at being binned for today's match. Why say he's got a sore throat despite the fact you have him on the bench? makes no sense to me. If he's dropped, he's dropped. Happens all the time in football, no big deal Quote
tom_widdows Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 Dare I say its a ready made excuse if the plan backfires 'Well we were forced to play Nelson because jamies throat wasnt up to shouting random instructions to....well to whoever he shouts instructions to' Had he been able to play we might have got a draw etc etc Quote
tsr Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 Its a total joke, I just posted the same about Langfield elsewhere, why on earth would you lie about it? Quote
Dandy_Don Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 Maybe because he was just trying to give Langfield a boot up the backside without humiliating him. Langfield has got fuck all to complain about, he hasn't been brilliant lately and has no God-given right to be selected. Yes he should definitely be dropping Kerr and McDonald - but as we have already established we have nobody to fill those positions. Of course there is another discussion about why we don't but that's for another day. At least he was trying to do something by swapping Langfield out. Langfield should keep his mouth shut and concentrate on do his job. Quote
Kowalski Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 I'd have Young and Duff in for Kerr and McDonald in an instant, that's how bad things are at the moment. And Fyvie could obviously play there as well. Quote
tsr Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 I seriously wouldn't play Young and Duff, I still have nightmares about Sigma. Quote
Kowalski Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 I seriously wouldn't play Young and Duff, I still have nightmares about Sigma. They were at the back that night though. Weren't Kerr and McDonald in midfield for the Sigma game and have continued to do next to nothing since? Young would put in a lot more effort in midfield than either of Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee. Reekie_Red Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 I have been told that McGhee changed a lot of things when he came in that did not go down well with the squad Like playing a recognised formation? Quote
Kowalski Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 Like playing a recognised formation? 4-2-3-1 or something today from what I heard. Quote
Dandy_Don Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 I agree Kow - that doesn't sound like a bad idea to me... Something needs to be done! Quote
CtS Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 I'd have Young and Duff in for Kerr and McDonald in an instant, that's how bad things are at the moment. And Fyvie could obviously play there as well. Kow I was typing the exact same thing about Kerr and Macdonald, Duff and Young. Not because they are better players, just to give everyone a kick up the arse. Changing the keeper was a big gamble because it put Nelson under huge pressure in a very tense game for the club, maybe that's why McGhee lied about Langfield being ill to make it seem like a forced change? Didn't fucking work anyway. Is Nelson Jimmy's dross or was he a McGhee signing? Quote
tom_widdows Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 Nelson seems to be stuck in the 1950s when it was basically suicide for a keeper to catch a ball. Quote
mizer Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 To be fair to the lad, he is a vast improvement on Bossu! Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 McGhee signed him from Norwich. I think he knows that mate Quote
Jute Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 We seem to be stumbling from one disaster to another at the moment. Fuck knows what we are going to do, but if we don't pick up soon our season may not be over after all - relegation dogfight, here we come! Hope not as we have no players who would be up for any sort of fight (unless its outside a nightclub allegedly) so will be fucked if we get sucked into relegation fight. Quote
scotfree Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 The Club at the moment seem to be in 4 factions. MM/Players/Board/Fans. I really am in fear for the Club at the moment. Quote
