BigAl Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 Read the odds in the papers this morning for the first managerial change in the SPL this season. Gus McPherson favourite @ 7/2 ahead of the new " permanent" Hearts manager Our own JC rank outsider @ 25/1 apparently. Quote
Leerichardson40yrds Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 How can Gus McPherson be on the same level as any Hearts manager? If you fancy a flutter, I would bet on John Collins being the first one to leave/get the dunt. He has done a lot of sellin' and not much buyin'. It doesn't take much for anyone to upset the Hibs dressing room... Quote

Thought exactly the same myself about Gus McPherson as I thought that the St Midden board and supporters were pretty happy with what he has done there. Collins from memory is at something like 10/1 Quote
glasgow sheep Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 John Collins must be a shoe in for first to get punted. Can't see Saint getting rid of McPherson at all either. Which idiot made up these odds? Quote
BigAl Posted July 19, 2007 Author Report Posted July 19, 2007 Full odds from William Hills 7/2 McPherson - St Mirren 9/2 " insert name" - Hearts 5/1 Christie - ICT 5/1 Collins - Hibs 10/1 Jeffries - Killie & Irons - Gretna 12/1 McGhee - Motherwell 16/1 Levein - D. Utd 20/1 Hughes - Falkirk, Strachan - Celtic, Smith - Huns 25/1 Calderwood - AFC. Quote
glasgow sheep Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 can't believe Smith is more likely to get the bullet than JC either Quote
Drewsome Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 JC's performance last year would have confidence very high, Strachan's should be equally close but Smith had to salvage a season Quote
Reekie_Red Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 Smith did an extraordinary job of turning the season around after the almighty calamity that was Paul Le Guen. We were quite comfortably sitting in second place when Smith came onboard. By the end of the season, we were quite some way behind the huns in the league. I dinnae reckon Smith will be chucked for a good number of years yet. He is one of Rangers' most successful managers ever, and he only left the first time around to try his hand in the Premiership. He failed miserably with Everton, so he's now back with the huns. Dinnae reckon Murray will be too happy about finding yet another replacement next term. Smith will be given at least three years in-charge, especially since he's blooding in the biggest Scottish contingent Ibrox has seen since Souness was boss. Quote
Madbadteacher Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 Do Hearts call them "managers" any more? I would think Davie Irons will be first to go, temporary replacement, due to get fired in late Sept as Miles splashes the cash to get a "real" manager in after 8 straight losses Quote
caledonia Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 I think as a betting man i would take this one on 16/1 Levein - D. Utd Quote
Reekie_Red Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 Cannae see Levein getting chucked. He's a pretty bloody good manager if he can get performances out of Tannadice's latest shower of shite. My money is still on either McPherson or Collins. Quote
chunk Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 So how much do we reckon JC had on himself at 25's then?? Quote
mizer Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 All the money he saved from the tanning salon by going to Egypt - should be a good £1000 You're work not banned this site or are you on holiday? Quote
chunk Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 I can get on here, but only really between certain hours of the day. Capitalist Pigs. Quote

Mentorred Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 The odds must have gone down after todays signing Quote
Drewsome Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 Young Signing brings Odss to even money Quote
mizer Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 I take it Mr Calderwoods odds have narrowed? Quote
Drewsome Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 After yesterday's game, I'd say JC should be canned NOW! Quote
Stewart Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 Get a grip. One defeat doesn't mean the board should sack him. Quote
Dynamo Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 Quite fancied it when he was 20s or fitiver! Quote
GlezgaRed Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 Odds sure to have shortened after Saturday's debacle ? The most clueless performance from an Aberdeen manager in my recent memory Quote
