mizer
1. If we can get above Hamilton and St Johnstone we get more cash 2. Good for the youth players in the long term.
Azteca1903
Option 2: There is no point in persevering with players who won't be here next season, while at the same time these games are perfect for including the young lads, certainly more so than throwing them in at the deep end. tsr
I agree, or at least 2) play players who you intend being part of the team next season.
dave_min
2 Please. Doesn't the extra cash for league position go to the players?
Jute
Option 2 would be the ideal however we are skint and at £60K a place we need to get as far up the league as possible. £120K extra for 7th might mean a bit more money to spend in the summer. scunnered999
Get rid of the shower of shite that has let us down so badly this season and give the young players a chance to show what they can do. You never know, giving the young lads a run out might actually up attendances a bit???
tsr
2 Please. Doesn't the extra cash for league position go to the players? No, the players don't get a bonus at all for being in the bottom 6.
Kowalski
How do we know who's leaving? McGhee wants to keep Kerr apparently. Although I guess we could drop all those who's contract expires in the summer.
mizer
How do we know who's leaving? We don't but I hop MM does by now
Superstar Tradesman
Frost out those who are leaving now. Those that have been made offers but haven't signed are told to do so in the next week or they join the other non-commited players in the doghouse. New formations are tried out, new captains are given a run out to see how they cope and just for a laugh Mackie gets a chance at being Paul Scholes in midfield. Guest ally s
Option one for me. All very well putting in young lads but they've got to be good enough and earn the right to play for the 1st team.
McMaster
A bit o both for me. Lets completely make sure we are safe then blend a few of the youth players in.

maverick sheep
YOOF!!! Anyone who thinks the extra money would actually make its way into the the playing budget or make any dent in the debt hasn't been paying attention for the last umpteen seasons. The most the money could possibly achieve would be in going towards compensation for those we get rid of.
BobbyBiscuit
Not sure why people are putting faith in a group of players to get us results in the last few matches when they've failed to do that over the majority of the season.

TENEMENTFUNSTER
That's fine with me mate, if it was a different manager I still wouldn't want that shower of shite playing for us! I disagree BB. I think we can aspire to mediocrity with a good few of the players we have.

glasgowdon
I think we should let more youngsters into the team and give them a chance to impress. Might at least show a bit of hunger.

One Bobby Clark
Given that we're "safe" - barring Nellie the Dons perfect storm happening, I think McGhee should be picking what he thinks is his best team. If there's no pressure on the team, then hopefully, we'll get to see signs of growth for the future. If, however, what we've watched all season is the best that the team can do - then we're fucked. Kowalski
SPL money does not matter to Aberdeen FC Players should play for pride, says McGhee By Sean Wallace Published: 29/04/2010 ABERDEEN FC would land an extra £160,000 cash windfall if they can finish the season in seventh place. The SPL today confirmed the difference between each league position in the bottom six will be £80,000. On current league standings, Aberdeen FC are set to secure £960,000 from the SPL for ninth place. But if they were to leap-frog Hamilton, who they face on Saturday – and St Johnstone, that figure would increase to £1,120,000. Suggest that finishing as high up the table as possible is the priority!
