Harcus Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 For my own sanity, I hope neither of these games take place. The forums will be full of wannabe casuals typing things like "this could get tasty!!!!!", "I reckon this one is gonna GO OFF lol", and "lot of ladz up for this one!!!!!". Oh, and posting videos of "trouble". Loathsome. Quote
Kowalski Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 Apparently it's a four team tournament in Stoke - Port Vale, Aberdeen, Millwall and Leeds. Quote
tsr Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 Heard a rumour this will be the only English game, source simmie speaking to one of my mates. Quote
Ptayles Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 We were always gonna be linked with one of McGhees former players who seemed to get on with Dingus Quote
tsr Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 Tamworth away 24th July, no idea where that is? Clearly Simmy is not a great source Also read Brighton way 31st July is a rumour. Quote
Guest leith_red Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 Tamworth away 24th July, no idea where that is? 20-30 miles north east of Birmingham. Quote
daytripping Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 Won't be any trouble, Aberdeen only take numbers down South for Saturday games. I recall when we played Hull about 15 years ago midweek in a pre season friendly, they had a good couple hundred lads out well up for it, we had around a dozen, they felt sorry for us and we ended up having a few beers with them! That night there were more police than Dons fans, they must have been expecting big things. Quote
Goldie03 Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 I couldn't be more bored reading about who we may or may not play in pre-season friendlies I honestly couldn't give a fuck Quote
tsr Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 So why you reading a thread entitled "preseason games"? Quote

I was thinking more about booze wise than trouble wise, wouldn't expect us to take more than maybe 400 for Tamworth, maybe 150 for Port Vale. That said we will have fans in England too so you never know. Quote
mizer Posted May 18, 2010 Author Report Posted May 18, 2010 Tamworth away 24th July, no idea where that is? Clearly Simmy is not a great source Also read Brighton way 31st July is a rumour. On the Tamworth forum the game was mentioned last thursday. Quote
dave_min Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 When we heading over to Holland this summer? Quote
Jute Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 Tamworth away 24th July, no idea where that is? Clearly Simmy is not a great source Also read Brighton way 31st July is a rumour. Just north of Birmingham. Game confirmed on their website. Seriously considering taking a few days holidays and heading to both games. Quote
Ptayles Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 If brighton/millwall is confirmed im going to all 3...Would be a great adventure Quote

manc_don Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 Hmm...Brighton or Millwall would make sense due his previous links, but if we're around the midlands/north I wonder if it will be Wolves. Purely on his previous managerial postings. Wolves aside, though neither of the other two would fall into the "top class" category Quote
stoney Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 Think Millwall are playing Hearts on the 31st now Quote

Only four matches though? is that not all we had last year and he thought we weren't prepared enough? Quote
dave_min Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 Birmingham City? They play in the midlands? Or they could be the big home game, they're playing Rangers at Ibrox in pre-season Quote

Only four matches though? is that not all we had last year and he thought we weren't prepared enough? My bad, didn't read it correctly. Fuck knows then! Its a shame, I'm still hoping they play someone remotely exciting down here. I can't believe we're playing the likes of Tamworth...is that preparing us for life in Div 1? Anyway, I agree, I didn't think we were prepared last season, doesn't seem like its exactly an intensive pre season. Quote

Guest leith_red Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 Pars away, 3 in England and one at home. And we'll probably play the usual, local, suspects - Peterhead, Brechin etc. Quote
