Scotland legend, Kenny Dalglish (MBE), will be guest of honour at this year's Aberdeen Football Club Gala Dinner.

The prestigious dinner, which has seen the likes of Denis Law and Andy Roxburgh grace the stage, is to be held on Thursday 11th November 2010 at the AECC.

Scotland's most capped player, Kenny was part of the undefeated 1974 World Cup team and scored to bring victory over the Auld Enemy in both 1976 and 1977. A man who has a habit of setting records, Kenny had been part of nine championship winning sides and is only the third manager in the history of the game to lead two different clubs to league championship in the Premier League.

Kenny will be joined by one of Scotland's best known comedy actors, star of hit TV series Still Game, Karen Dunbar, with Rob McLean returning as master of ceremonies.

The eagerly anticipated event promises to be bigger and better than ever before with guests enjoying a fabulous evening of fine dining and first class entertainment.

A fundraising game of Heads and Tails will also be held in aid of AFC Youth Academy.

AFC Sales and Marketing Manager Lynne Duncan commented: "We are delighted to be announcing the details for the 2010 AFC Gala Dinner, an event which is now successfully established as the premier sporting dinner in the North of Scotland.

"We have once again strived to secure high calibre speakers and in Kenny Dalglish we have a Scotland legend who I am sure will captivate the audience with his football anecdotes. Alongside Kenny we have comedienne Karen Dunbar to entertain and amuse with her unique brand of humour."

Tables of 10 are available now for £1,250 plus VAT.

WTF the fuck is a Gala dinner? What benefit does it bring the club? Why are we spening cash on it?

Given that it's £125 a head, I doubt the club is spending much if anything on this.
