stuartmonroe Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 Well at least it looks like good news on the Foster contract situation - seems talks have gone well and the club expect to announce a contract extension later on this week. Now for the rest.... Quote
Superstar Tradesman Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 Nothing on Redweb, where you hearing this? Not surprised though, shouldn't have thought he'd be too difficult to deal with. Who are all up for renewal? Quote
Reekie_Red Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 Who would've thought even 18 months ago that we'd be happy to tying Foster up on a longer contract? Oh how times change!! Quote
don4eva Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 ricky gets 2 year extension to be honest i thought he was one of our better players last year playing at left back definetly deserves this in my case Quote
mizer Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 He did well last season and scored one of the best goals I will ever see in my lifetime at Motherwell http://www.afc.premiumtv.co.uk/javaImages/15/fa/0,,10284~3340821,00.jpg[/img] Quote
KGB Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 He did well last season and scored one of the best goals I will ever see in my lifetime at Motherwell http://www.afc.premiumtv.co.uk/javaImages/15/fa/0,,10284~3340821,00.jpg[/img] And then scored another peach against Hibs Quote
mizer Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 I only saw that one on the telly - but the well goal was better anyway as me and manc_don screamed shoot at him before he hit it Quote
AyrshireDon Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 Foster is a player I've liked ever since he came into the team, so I'm chuffed we've got him on a new deal! However, it seems odd that whenever we offer new contracts it's usually 2yr max though- hardly leaves us in a position to demand a decent fee if/ when we decide to sell him on. Foster was pretty much a 1st choice last season (and is also 'versatile' which is the main thing under JC) so why only for 2yrs? (unless of course that's all he wanted) Anyways, here's hoping we can get the likes of Mikey Hart & Lovell signed up before long too Quote
rednek Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 I would of been very happy to see him go before last season. He turned it around last season and am now delighted he's signed. hopefully he'll keep up the form. Quote
Drewsome Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 Last year was a hint of what Foster can do; I think the exposure in Europe will see him bloom even further. Quote
sheepheid Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 I'm glad Foster's got a new contract but just hope he doesn't do an Andy Dow on us - Has one good season and then goes to rats-sh*t?!! Quote
Guest innesciver Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Fully deserved. I was really impressed with Foster last season. I can't remember seeing him having a poor game. Quote
Jute Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 I only saw that one on the telly - but the well goal was better anyway as me and manc_don screamed shoot at him before he hit it I think you will find you said "don't let that cunt shoot" Quote
BigAl Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Yep pleased for Foster. Certainly wasn't among many peoples picks for a starting berth at the start of last season, but he really came on to a game as the season went on, and won over most of the boo boys along the way. Big test now having set the standard in that he not only needs to maintain that level but indeed develop further. If he succeeds he really could turn out to be an asset to AFC. Good luck Ricky Quote
Stewart Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 Glad we've got him tied up so early. Roll on Mikey Hart's deal! Quote
