Some interesting signings on deadline day down south.

Asamoah Gyan to Sunderland

Robinho to AC Milan

Hleb to Birmingham on loan

I see Joe Ledley was preferred to Charlos Mulgroo at left back against Utrecht last night. :D

I'm sure Joe Ledley was delighted about that!!  Can't ever imagine him thinking he'd end up playing left back when he signed.  If only Neil Lennon had bothered his arse to look at Mulgrew before he signed him...  ;D

Probably true but ignoring the most amazing bit about it...

£18 MILLION?  The world is a crazy, crazy place.

Watched him in the Newcastle game yesyterday, looks like he's already left, 18 mill for that cunt is unbelievable!

I actually think he's a decent striker but not worth £18M.

aye, he is decent. I think he'll be a good player for Villa, they certainly need him.  MON got out of there at the right time (as he did at Celtic).

I'm not incredibly perceptive, I've only seen him play a few games (and he's been dung in them all btw) and he does seem to get a few goals but he is nowhere worth 18 mill. I'd rather have Keane.

I don't think he "got out of it" at the tims.

He most certainly did at Villa though and he'll be getting right back into "it" at the Hammers.

Maybe wrong choice of vocabulary but things were changing at Parkhead in terms of players and he would probably have had to re-build to an extent, and he would have had to do it on a significantly lower budget than he had been used to.

Something Strachan was rarely given credit for actually achieving.

Are Villa just firing money at their predicament? I think O'Neill would have welcomed  18 million quid.

looks like it and it's the very reason O'Neill left I think.  Shame that it takes things to get desperate before some Chairman finally dip into the funds...

That is if he even takes over there. Wasn't very impressed that it had been leaked / broadcast by Karen Brady that he was going to be taking over. Certainly will be getting right into the thick of it if does though!

going for £24m according to the Mail.

According to the BBC, they've yet to accept his transfer request but in my eyes, they'd be foolish not to. May as well cash in on him.
