Ross County: Richard Brittain not at St Johnstone training      Richard Brittain has failed to turn up for St Johnstone's first day of pre-season training.

The Ross County captain signed a pre-contract with Saints in January, but changed his mind about the move .

The midfielder was present at Ross County's first pre-season training session, on Thursday.

Hull City have signed former Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor from Besiktas on a three-year deal, subject to international clearance.

McGregor, who has joined for a fee believed to be around £1.8m, has 29 international caps for Scotland.

The 31-year-old told the club website: "I'm really excited to be here and I'm happy that everything is done now.

"This is a great chance for me to play in the Premier League and I'm looking forward to the season ahead."

McGregor made over 200 appearances for Rangers before moving to Turkey in July 2012.

Midfielder David Wotherspoon has signed a two-year deal with hometown club St Johnstone following his release from Scottish top flight rivals Hibernian.

The 23-year-old moved to Easter Road in 2007, having been with Saints and Celtic as a youth.

He made a scoring debut for Hibs in 2009 and was rewarded with a four-year contract later that year.

The former Scotland Under-21 international scored four goals in 38 appearances last season.

Goodwillie back to the arabs on loan

Scotland striker David Goodwillie is returning to Dundee United on a six-month loan from Blackburn Rovers.

The 24-year-old scored 40 goals in 136 games for United before moving to Ewood Park in a £2m switch in August 2011.

But Goodwillie made just 10 starts for Rovers last season and endured an unhappy loan stint at Crystal Palace.

"I am striving to improve Dundee United in both the short and long term and adding a player of David's quality will help," said manager Jackie McNamara.

Goodwillie back to the arabs on loan

Seem to be creaming themselves about the "signing" of Goodwillie.

Have I missed something here, thought he was only on a six month loan.

Reckon it'll take more than that to replace the quality they've lost over the summer. Perhaps the couple of trialists from English football's SIXTH tier and the striker who has scored one goal in 35 games can do it for them ;)

Jeez, didn't see that one coming! Bargain for a player of his quality.

Yeah was very surprised when I saw the size of the fee. Would have thought there would been plenty of clubs willing to pay 3 or 4 times that for a player of his ability and with his scoring record.
