Former Aberdeen FC defender Kombouare eyes move for Beckham

Paris St Germain boss has spending power

Published: 17/09/2011

FORMER Aberdeen FC defender Toni Kombouare could be set to manage LA Galaxy’s David Beckham.

Kombouare, 75, is manager of Paris St Germain who are ready to make an ambitious move to secure the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder.

Paris St Germain sporting director Leonardo said: “I am considering Beckham. He is more than a football player – he’s a brand.”

Could just have easily been posted in "filthy hun news" as he more than fits the description ;)

I wasn't suggesting that where Manc should have posted it, merely offering a reason as to why he's signed for Donny.

No worries Baggy, wasn't for a second suggesting that, merely highlighting that that prick is a filthy hun ;)

Can't argue with that Al! :D I was tempted.

Hadn't read that Baggy, makes a lot of sense!

Had several, notably against Copenhagen too. An unmitigated disaster at FB though.

which unfortunately is where he played most games. He was cavalier going forward though, often wondered if he might suit left midfield

A horrendous touch would suggest "probably not"  ;)

True but I was meaning more he was quick, built like a tank and liked going forward.  At full back he caused a lot of problems when he went on the overlap and had an alright cross.  Unfortunatley this was always tempered with the minimum 3 major fuck ups a game when  he was in (and i use this word loosely) position.  Moving him forward potentially could have been good for him.  Pointless speculation now

He presented me with my cheque when I won the half time draw a few years back.  He was in plaster at the time thus free for such promotional activity.  Seemed a decent enough bloke, but then he was giving me a great big cheque.  Do they even do the half time draw anymore?
