Messi, Neymar and Suarez just doesn't work for me, plus Suarez is a horrible human being. Are you not aware that he's brilliant footballer? You act as if the bitey side of him is all we ever see. He'd walk into any team in the world bar none. That's why clubs appear to be willing to give him more chances than he maybe deserves. That's why Barcelona still want him. And with players like Neymar and Messi they can probably afford the risk of him being banned more than other clubs. Plus I'm sure they see an opportunity to get him for half of what he was worth a week ago. Quote
tom_widdows Posted June 27, 2014 Report Posted June 27, 2014 Brilliant footballer is one thing Brilliant footballer who you have to pay despite him not being allowed anywhere near your stadium or training facilities for the entire pre-season and first couple of months of the new season is another Particularly if your team hits the ground running and go several points clear only for boardroom pressure to dictate you throw him straight into the team as soon as he is available thereby upsetting the dressing room when an unprepared and non match fit liability upsets the balance. Has any of these teams said 'we want him and if Liverpool sell up we are going to spend a piece of the cash we saved on the transfer fee sending him on a 3month session with several psychologists to find out what exactly makes him do these stupid things and actually help him?' Quote
Kowalski Posted June 27, 2014 Report Posted June 27, 2014 I just don't see him fitting in to the system. Neymar's had problems playing second fiddle to Messi, it could get very complicated with all three of them. They all play a similar position for their countries. Quote

See England v Uruguay for what an unfit, unprepared and lacking in match practice Luis Suarez can do. Quote
tom_widdows Posted June 27, 2014 Report Posted June 27, 2014 His last match before England was on May 11th - A mere 6 weeks during which he was training (or at least had the option of) with his national squad and/ or Liverpool. His next match wont be until the end of October - A Mere 17 weeks during which time he is banned from training with any team and isnt even allowed into Anfield (or whereever he ends up) to take a piss. Cantona & Ferdinand got 8 & 9 months but were still allowed to train with Man United and go into old Trafford. The playing ban is irrelevant compared to the ban on ALL football activity. It is effectively solitary football solitary confinement. Doesn't matter how good you are, that is going to affect you. Quote

But it's looking less and less likely that it will be Liverpool's problem. The 4 month ban from playing is one thing. And can't really be argued. But the ban from training with your team? That's why some people are saying it's harsh. Quote
