Jute Posted August 6, 2016 Report Posted August 6, 2016 New bid of £100k submitted for Big Josh. Cannot believe someone with as little ability as Josh is getting a game in the top flight let alone having teams wanting to pay cash for him. Quote
manc_don Posted August 6, 2016 Author Report Posted August 6, 2016 Cannot believe someone with as little ability as Josh is getting a game in the top flight let alone having teams wanting to pay cash for him. Equally stunned that the first club was Oldham, a club who were happy to leave Rooney go In fairness, it's probably better to have a bit of pace and plenty of strength in that league, which is what josher has. rocket_scientist Posted August 8, 2016 Report Posted August 8, 2016 Pogba having medical at Manchester United today with Manchester United paying £89m for a player they let go for nothing a few years back. It was Alex Ferguson who failed to see his potential and/or failed to create the relationship. Expensive error. Quote
manc_don Posted August 8, 2016 Author Report Posted August 8, 2016 It was Alex Ferguson who failed to see his potential and/or failed to create the relationship. Expensive error. I always thought he left because he couldn't hack that he wouldn't play ahead of Scholes? Quote
Edinburghdon Posted August 8, 2016 Report Posted August 8, 2016 I always thought he left because he couldn't hack that he wouldn't play ahead of Scholes? Sure it's been reported that he threw his toys out of the pram about playing time and his agent demanded mental money for him to stay. Seem to remember Ferguson refused to deal with the agent from that point. Quote

Seem to remember Ferguson refused to deal with the agent from that point. Aye, that's what I thought. Who in the right mind would play a jumped up kid ahead of one of the best Midfielders in recent times!?! He and his agents were fannies. Rightly punted. Quote
Edinburghdon Posted August 8, 2016 Report Posted August 8, 2016 Aye, that's what I thought. Who in the right mind would play a jumped up kid ahead of one of the best Midfielders in recent times!?! He and his agents were fannies. Rightly punted. I can sort of understand it when the likes of rafael etc got the nod in front of him though. Quote
baggy89 Posted August 8, 2016 Report Posted August 8, 2016 I can sort of understand it when the likes of rafael etc got the nod in front of him though. Aye thats what I remember. Rafael and someone else of equal shiteness(relative), getting played in front of him out of position in midfield. So decided if he was thought of that poorly, that mediocre players out of position were a better option, he was better off moving elsewhere to develop his career. Correct move as hindsight now shows. Tyrant Posted August 10, 2016 Report Posted August 10, 2016 Aye but Pogba probably was a lot more shite back then than he is now? If he's demanding to play fitba and he's not ready for the United first team back then then what choice do United have but to sell him? Same with Kevin De Bruyne at Chelsea. The clubs get a lot of criticism for selling them and then buying them back after they've developed for a lot more cash but again if the players are demanding to play first team football/leave then what can they do? Cracking business for Juve and Wolfsburg respectively. Bottom line is that Chelsea and Man Utd can afford these mental fees. You've got to think that there's a tipping point and that it can't be that far ahead down the line! Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted August 10, 2016 Report Posted August 10, 2016 A lot has been said about the fee for Pogba (and it is an obscene amount of money), but the fee Juve have paid for Higuain is even more bonkers. 28 years old, no potential re-sale, £75m. Undoubtedly a good player, but Pogba has the potential to be the best midfielder in the world, Higuain won't be the best striker in the world now. United reckon Pogba will make them £40m in his first season alone....should just about cover his first month's wages... Quote

Jute Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 Charlton bid of £250k accept for Killie's Josh Magennis. Never mind £89m for pogba or £50m for Stones the above is all the evidence you need that transfer market in England is completely insane. Quote
BigAl Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 Stewart to Birmingham confirmed. £500k apparently. A fair bit below the price Hartley was spouting off about. Quote

BobbyBiscuit Posted August 19, 2016 Report Posted August 19, 2016 Lescott fails medical @ NewCo. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37132034 NewCo obviously more picky than the previous incumbents of Ibrox. OldCo would still have snapped him up a la Daniel Prodan. Quote
baggy89 Posted August 19, 2016 Report Posted August 19, 2016 I assume the part of the medical he failed was the part where they asked him how much per week It would take for him to be fit... Quote
