Not too bad. 1 Quote

Twenty six years ago this month to be exact. Didn't remember that he was actually "interim" manager through until the end of that season. Do remember that he had a shite record as Aberdeen manager although not as bad as Sheerin who had a 100% loss percentage as Aberdeen manager. Sheerin of course being assistant @ Killie will be the connection to Ramsay. Quote

Aye, Hegarty had a shite record, but I remember thinking some of the fitba we played under him was okay and I was surprised that he didn't do much in management beyond that. McInnes talked about Ramsay on a few occasions as Dons manager, he was clearly very aware of him but had [justified] loyalty to Logan. I think he would have featured in the Dumbarton game at least if McInnes had stayed on, but he was fairly conservative with the young lads for the Dons more generally, which was frustrating at times. Did we only have two young players (Wright and McKenna) come through under McInnes (obviously Ferguson was young, but was bought in)? I'm struggling to think of another. I guess Campbell got plenty of minutes, but I always felt that we clogged our squad with average journeymen that required placating before the youngsters. I'd say that even Wright was given a fairly raw deal under McInnes. Quote
manc_don Posted 21 hours ago Author Report Posted 21 hours ago From memory, wasn’t McKenna a forced inclusion? I.e, someone was injured and was forced to play him? His record with youth was horrendous, easily my biggest criticism of him. Quote

McKenna got in because we were shite at the back and he continued with him after he performed. McKenna himself was very complimentary on McInnes' input and the confidence he showed in him. 1 Quote
Reekie_Red Posted 20 hours ago Report Posted 20 hours ago I think the only homegrown youth Deek ever showed time for was Connor McLennan and Bruce Anderson. Even then the latter was only really a late sub. Even Wright never really flourished until the Glass/Goodwin era, as IIRC McInnes farmed him out to Dundee Quote

Swap for McRorie. Edited 17 hours ago by RicoS321 1 Quote
