mizer Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 Don't let that get in the way of fact though. What fact, its all opinion. Quote
glasgowdon Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 What fact, its all opinion. Well the first part is a fact. The second part is a fact also. Quote
Tyrant Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 Eh? It was right in front of all of us. Ifil was easily our MOTM. Let's not let a good performance get in the way of hounding the boy. Maybe it was the drink? Folk get so rat-arsed they don't know what they're watching where as I've never watched a football match drunk. I was really pleased with Ifil. I thoght he looked more of the player we saw against Hull. Quote
manc_don Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 He wasn't bad, still had a few very scary moments (losing the ball in the box) but seemed no nonsense enough to me. He wasn't the worst player on the park by a long way! Quote
glasgowdon Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 Not disputing he played well against Brighton - wasn't there. I think he looks a poor player based on what I saw of him last season. Quote
manc_don Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 It wasn't aimed at you, I was just agreeing with Tyrant. He looked very poor last season after looking decent enough at the start. Hopefully he can recapture the form he's had at previous clubs this season. Quote

Tyrant Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 I'm not saying he was world class or anything. Just that it was the best performance from anyone in a red shirt. Quote
scotfree Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 Not sure too many will agree on that. I do. Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 I'm not saying he was world class or anything. Just that it was the best performance from anyone in a red shirt. Not saying that this is a fact, just the overwhelming opinion posted by folks who saw the game, there was very little competition for that supreme accolade. He is still a poor player based upon many more viewings in competitive games. That's not hounding, or necessarily a fact, just my opinion. Quote
Tyrant Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 McGhee has said that only youngters will go out on loan. No experienced players. So Ifil is staying. Quote
Guest donindundonald Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Ifil was our MOTM against Brighton. If it wasn't for him it would have been a humping. Ifil = much better player than he's given credit for. You been on the doobies? - or are you mcgoo's adviser? Quote
Tyrant Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 You been on the doobies? - or are you mcgoo's adviser? No but I am one of the very few that watches football whilst not absolutely steaming. Maybe that's why I see what's there and not just what I want to see for the purposes of my own agenda against those who I've decided are shite no matter what they do. Quote

I can only assume that someones been spiking your bovril with vodka, or you don't really know anything about football. He's an 'experienced' degender who cant even seem to do the very basic things every single defender at this level should be able to do. I've no idea how he played against brighton, but any time i've seen him he's looked like an accident waiting to happen. And i include the run of games in which we kept clean sheets in that statement. How he can be a rumoured high earner at the club is beyond me. Not good enough on any sort of consistant level. There's your fact. Quote

dave_min Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 I think you should quit drinking. If you think Ifil is anything other than utterly shite you should maybe start drinking more. Quote
Madbadteacher Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 I could do the simple things better than Ifil. Now, I'm no athlete, his fitness etc is WAY better than mine, but even I can anticipate where to be and what to do defending-wise, even if I can't do it! Ifil, just can't. Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 I think you should quit drinking. Edinburghdon is not very far from the truth. He is not a good player. Quote
bilbobaggins Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Edinburgh is spot on. He's probably the worst player I've ever seen in an AFC shirt. Quote
manc_don Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Edinburgh is spot on. He's probably the worst player I've ever seen in an AFC shirt. Bold statement There are so many to choose from! Quote

BigAl Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Edinburgh is spot on. He's probably the worst player I've ever seen in an AFC shirt. Whilst not a great fan of Ifil, there is no way he even rates in the top ten of utter dross I've seen in an AFC over the past forty plus years since I first saw us play Quote
