Do not need to see the need to change myself. We have had one bad winter in the last 30 and folk are over reacting to it.  Have not seen any evidence that summer football will lead to any improvement to the game.

The problem with Summer football is with the every 2nd year there is a world cup or Euro's.

Some MLS teams lost star players for 2 or 3 games during the world cup and that was with having a 3 week break. Without the break they normally lose a lot more.

Not that Aberdeen have  many players to lose. Rangers and Celtic would be screwed. Oh maybe it is a good idea.

So we have a 4week break every 2 years.

Makes more sense than shutting down for 2 weeks in January (2 fucking limp wristed weeks?! At least shut down for the entire month if yer going to bang on about reducing the number of cancelled games)

And at least when we shut down for the euros etc we have something to watch.

Start 2-3 weeks earlier, get a few midweek games in then have a winter break for a few weeks during late Jan-early Feb but allow teams to play during that time if theres been lots of posponements leading upto the break.

That way there more time to play games and teams get a few competitive games before European comps start.

Dinna like the thought of Summer fitba

Not really sure about this either way.

I think having the League Cup final or at least semi finals wrapped up by November is an idea to avoid congestion in the latter half of the season in case of Scottish Cup replays or cancelled fixtures.

Summer football. Definitely. Fed up with the number of times I've nearly developed hypothermia.

Nae that it'll be exactly warm it still being Scotland, but I mind really enjoying the evening games at the youth World Cup back in the late 80s.

I much preferred the League Cup when the final was in November

Me too.

It hasn't been just a "bad winter" that's made most folk's mind up I think, more likely the utter disgrace the pitches end up no matter what outlay is made on them or the extent of the weather. I like the idea of not watching fitba freezing my nuts off and being played on a surface that it actually can be played on rather than the grassless fuck ups we have been offered.

As dave_min says, it really is a no brainer.

Summer football would be a boost. TV money would be more substantial as summer foobtall would fill the void when the EPL is shut down. We are competing with EPL for broadcasters money and it goes without saying that it's a pointless contest. Add alcohol sales in to the mix and it makes for a more enjoyable experience.

Definite for me.

One of the reasons I didn't renew was sitting through the coldest winter in 30 years watching terrible football.  At least I wouldn't get pneumonia if they took a winter break.
