Kowalski Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 Really enjoyed Prometheus. Some rather gory scenes and leaves a few unanswered questions at the end with regard to Alien. Wouldn't surprise me if there is another Alien prequel in the offing but they need to get Ridley Scott to direct it as well, otherwise it could all go to rat shit (aka Star Wars episodes 1-3). Quote
Tyrant Posted June 13, 2012 Report Posted June 13, 2012 Went to see Ill Manors last night. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It's the first film of Musician Plan B. He wrote and directed it. He's known for quality story telling in his music and the film lives up to that too. Low budget but still really good. Quote

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^ Thought it was good as a stand alone film but also kind of felt like an Alien film too, very much a prequel of a prequel and has some explaining to do but on the whole excellent although a little confusing in places. Wish there were more aliens like the one at the end, but that is for the next film im sure. As you say it will have to be directed by Ridley Scott or it could end up a bit of a mess. Quote
tom_widdows Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 Men in Black 3 (in 2D) was alrite for a fiver. Not really sure why they needed to bother with a 3D version but I think that about almost every 'blockbuster' these days With regards to prometheus surely the logical step is to bring James Cameron back for the following prequel Quote
Tyrant Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 3D movies - shite money making ploy. Does nothing for me whatsoever. 3D fitba, however, was ace. Quote
Kowalski Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 With regards to prometheus surely the logical step is to bring James Cameron back for the following prequel Strangely enough i think his name has been linked. I wouldn't have a problem with that! Quote
Madbadteacher Posted June 25, 2012 Report Posted June 25, 2012 Watched "The Eagle" last night on TV. No a bad wee film, then end was a bit obvious though. One minor pedantic quibble though....how heavy would an imperial legion eagle made of gold be? they were touting it around like it was no heavier than a bag of sugar! Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted June 25, 2012 Report Posted June 25, 2012 Ask Padre. I'm sure the major problems with the picture were entirely his fault. Quote
manc_don Posted July 8, 2012 Author Report Posted July 8, 2012 Saw the amazing Spiderman yesterday. Was a good laugh and very entertaining, but not a film that should be taken seriously. As a side note, Emma stone is stunning. Quote
Superstar Tradesman Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 I don't get the new Spiderman movie. Isn't it just telling the same story that's already been told about a hundred times previously? Quote

I think their rights to the film were running out so they did it for shits and giggles. As I said, Emma stone is hot, that's all you need to know Quote
Madbadteacher Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 Spiderman plot Teen angst, beats bad guy, "deep" stare int camera allowing for another sequal/prequal Quote
Tyrant Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 I don't get the new Spiderman movie. Isn't it just telling the same story that's already been told about a hundred times previously? Nah it's actually a very different story to the original Tobey Maguire number. I'm not usually into comic books films but as with the original Spiderman I really enjoyed this one. Although the glass-shattering basketball scene left me cringing. Quote

Exact same film with a couple of minor tweaks. Not really worth seeing. Quote

maverick sheep Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Emma Stone = worth seeing you can't have a wank in the cinema though. well, not more than once. Quote
Mentorred Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Went to see Ted the other day, Very Funny. Quote
Tyrant Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Exact same film with a couple of minor tweaks. Not really worth seeing. Min, it's completely different. The girl's different, the villain's different and the way Parker is affected by the bite is different. Quote
Mentorred Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 Saw The Dark Knight Rises today, Brilliant movie. Quote
manc_don Posted July 24, 2012 Author Report Posted July 24, 2012 Saw The Dark Knight Rises today, Brilliant movie. Thought the same And Anne Hathaway is HOT. Quote
Tyrant Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 I saw it last night and I have to admit despite not being on the band wagon for the first 2 Bale Batman movies I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I was away to point out how Batman doomed the whole city but I winna spoil it. Quote
Superstar Tradesman Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 Saw The Dark Knight Rises today, Brilliant movie. There were a few people in Colorado blown away by it. Quote
Andrew Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 I didn't like the dark knight rises too much. Too many characters with the plot line jumping around and never really focusing on any of them. What was the point in having cat women and the other women? One would have been enough. It was too long and in the first hour almost nothing happens. I am all for slow build ups and all that but it was just a bit dull imo. I also struggled to hear the things Bane was saying. The worst thing about was the ending though. Just stupid. Quote
