Kowalski Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Just watched horror film called "The Pact"... nae bad - jumped a few times. Did you try cleaning the DVD? Quote
Kowalski Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Saw Argo tonight at the cinema, it was very good indeed! Quote
RDU_64 Posted November 15, 2012 Report Posted November 15, 2012 I am planning to go and see Argo on my next jaunt to the cinema! Been on nightshift so this week, I have mostly been watching - The Dark Knight Rises - Enjoyed it. Really good film. American Pie: The Reunion - only stuck it on for a few laughs and I wanted something easy to watch at 3:30am. Did the job. Ali - Really good film I thought. Really good performance from Will Smith and focused on Ali, not only as a boxer but as a husband and a religious man. Would recommend. Terminator - Terminator 2 has to be one of my favourite films but I'd never seen Terminator. I enjoyed it and thought it was a cracking film! The ending where the Terminator has gotten rid of his Schwarznegger covering really shows it's age now but I can imagine it would have been brilliant in 1984! Quote
Tyrant Posted November 15, 2012 Report Posted November 15, 2012 Will Smith is an amazing actor. True story. Quote

RDU_64 Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Can't wait to see Flight. Looks brilliant IMO. Denzel FTW Quote
Kowalski Posted November 29, 2012 Report Posted November 29, 2012 Saw Mel Gibson's "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" and was pleasantly surprised. It's a dark thriller set in a mad Mexican prison, with some humour thrown in now and again. Mad Mel is on very good form. Quote
Tyrant Posted November 29, 2012 Report Posted November 29, 2012 Can't wait to see Flight. Looks brilliant IMO. Denzel FTW Does look good. Some similarities with the film Freefall too. Quote
Tyrant Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 Watched End of Watch last night. Worth watching. Decent. Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 The Angel's Share, pretty good! Quote
scotfree Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaVf6sxBSYk  And no it's not a comedy! Quote
RDU_64 Posted December 21, 2012 Report Posted December 21, 2012 Nightshift again so watched Argo (thought it was alright) and Looper (again, alright. Enjoyed it more than what I thought I would). Quote
manc_don Posted December 21, 2012 Author Report Posted December 21, 2012 I was really impressed with Argo, but I was genuinely disappointed by looper. Thought it would be much better than it was, was a bit angry of wasted money seeing it. Quote
dave_min Posted December 21, 2012 Report Posted December 21, 2012 Any cunt seen the Hobbit yet? I'm meant to go see it at the weekend, but everyone i've spoke to says it's pish. Quote
Tyrant Posted December 21, 2012 Report Posted December 21, 2012 Any cunt seen the Hobbit yet? I'm meant to go see it at the weekend, but everyone i've spoke to says it's pish. I haven't seen it. But I've actually not heard a bad word said about it. Admittedly they're all fucking Lord of the Rings nerd geeks knobs. Quote
Kowalski Posted December 21, 2012 Report Posted December 21, 2012 Will definitely go and see it as I thought the LOTR trilogy was a masterpiece but I'm concerned that the Hobbit story is being dragged out (3 films FFS) and the first film is nearly 3 hours! Quote
jmo Posted December 21, 2012 Report Posted December 21, 2012 Planning on seeing it, but I thought turning The Hobbit into two films was stretching it, never mind three. In saying that, I've only heard good things about it. Quote
dave_min Posted December 21, 2012 Report Posted December 21, 2012 What i've heard is basically that LoRT fans enjoy the casual references to the LoRT films, but they've stretched the story longer than it needs to be. Also meant to ask, any cunt watched it at "High Frame Rate" or whatever the fuck it's called? Worth the extra cash? or not any different? Quote
Kowalski Posted December 24, 2012 Report Posted December 24, 2012 Saw The Hobbit last night, I enjoyed it. It took a while to get going but there's some great scenes, particularly one between Gollum and Bilbo. The 2 hours 50 minutes passed quite quickly which is good. For any LOTR geeks, there seems to be a continuity problem as when we are told during the LOTR trilogy of how Bilbo originally acquired the one ring, that seems to have changed somewhat in the Hobbit! Madbadteacher Posted December 24, 2012 Report Posted December 24, 2012 Fially catching up to some of the stuff on the DVR now, better than all this "happy holidays" shite. Last watch was cowboys and Aliens, actually quite enjoyed it. Quote
Goldie03 Posted December 30, 2012 Report Posted December 30, 2012 I haven't seen it. But I've actually not heard a bad word said about it. Admittedly they're all fucking Lord of the Rings nerd geeks knobs. I saw The Hobbit a couple of weeks ago in Aberdeen and it was fab tho admittedly I did read the book when I was 7 so could be classed as a Hobbit/LOTR/Harry Potter nerdy geek Argo tonight was superb, was so tense throughout the whole film Quote
Kowalski Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 Enjoyed The Imposter, quite an amazing true story with a bit of a twist. I'd recommend it! Quote
tlg1903 Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 Just watched Jack reacher, decent enough silly action movie Quote
tom_widdows Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 I dont care what anyone thinks. I am looking forward to this Quote
