Goldie03 Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Yeh I reckon I'm gonna give The Monuments Men a miss too after some of the reviews I saw Her last night which was quite interesting tho probably not really appropriate for my youngest daughter Quote
Goldie03 Posted February 27, 2014 Report Posted February 27, 2014 We were going to go and see Monument Men last night, but have just read/heard one too many bad reviews about it so we gave it a miss. Watched Dallas Buyers Club instead. Wasn't really sure what to expect to be hnoest, but got to say thoroughly enjoyed it, with excellent perfomances from the three main characters played by Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner and Jared Leto. I agree, saw it tonight Quote
Kowalski Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 Elysium - pretty decent, would recommend if you enjoyed District 9 as it has the same gritty sci-fi feel about it (same director) The Butler - really good, some performance from big Forest Whittaker Last Vegas - average at best Quote
Goldie03 Posted March 9, 2014 Report Posted March 9, 2014 The Grand Budapest Hotel is fabulous - I love Ralph Fiennes Quote
manc_don Posted March 9, 2014 Author Report Posted March 9, 2014 The Grand Budapest Hotel is fabulous - I love Ralph Fiennes Booked tickets to see it on Thursday. Was hoping to see it tonight but it was pretty much sold out in my local cinema until Thursday. Quote
Goldie03 Posted March 9, 2014 Report Posted March 9, 2014 I'm sure you will enjoy it - I giggled all the way through Quote
manc_don Posted March 10, 2014 Author Report Posted March 10, 2014 Gave a little yelp of joy when I saw that bit in the cinema jager. No-one else understood why Quote
scotfree Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 He was a wreck the whole way trough the book Jager. He was dressing up in women's clothes and thinking he was his wife right from the start and bumping people off. But then again you might think that's normal. (not that there is any thing wrong with that if that's your thing.) Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 Saw a few movies going back and furrit to Oz, Gravity was excellent, Las Vegas was a decent effort, 12 Years A Slave was good, watched all the Godfather movies back to back too. Eyes were bleeding!! Quote
Goldie03 Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 With all the excitement of the cup I forgot to mention I saw Under the Skin last Saturday I thought it was complete drivel and probably the worst 2 hours of my life in a cinema Not my cup of tea at all I'm afraid tho I'm not into aliens so my first thought was that I wouldn't like it which was cemented after the trailer tho my pal persuaded me to go as she had read the book I doubt even Scarlett Johansson naked can save this film for anyone Quote
Goldie03 Posted April 9, 2014 Report Posted April 9, 2014 Has no-one been to the movies lately I saw Divergent on Sunday in London - it was very expensive to get in Great film of you are a fan of The Hunger Games - Shailene Woodley doesn't offer quite as much eye candy as Jennifer Lawrence but Theo James does for me Quote
Superstar Tradesman Posted April 10, 2014 Report Posted April 10, 2014 I watched about 20 minutes of The Last Stand before turning it off. Schwarzenegger's literally lost the plot. Quote
Goldie03 Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 Captain America - The Winter Soldier is pretty good Quote
tom_widdows Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 Went to see 'The Raid 2' last night Never heard of the original and it was a toss up between this and captain America. Mate sold it to my by proclaiming that is was a sort of 'oldboy' style film. Extreme silly and gory violence but it did keep the attention spam awake. Although how it is possible to continue to fight several heavily armed blokes when yer right hamstring has seemingly been cut by a large machete 10mins before..... This one has stepped up the gore factor compared to other films like it that I have seen and i find it a bit silly now. Not even Tom & Jerry would be standing after some of the crap pulled in this film yet gang members, dodgy cops and gangsters seen to take an eternity to kill no matter how many times you hit them in the head with numerous sharp and or heavy metal objects Still a hell of alot better than the last film i went to see (Thor 2) Quote
Mentorred Posted April 14, 2014 Report Posted April 14, 2014 Captain America - The Winter Soldier is pretty good Filmed in Cleveland 40 minutes from my house Quote
Goldie03 Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is pretty good and how lovely is Emma Stone Quote
Tyrant Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is pretty good and how lovely is Emma Stone Correct. I also enjoyed my recent trip to see The Other Woman. It amused me. Quote
Kowalski Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 Dom Hemingway - nonsense Saving Mr Banks - very good Quote
manc_don Posted May 19, 2014 Author Report Posted May 19, 2014 Saw Godzilla last night, as cheesy as expected. Quote
Kowalski Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Very disappointed with the Grand Budapest Hotel. I thought it was supposed to be funny!? Quote
Andrew Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 Very disappointed with the Grand Budapest Hotel. I thought it was supposed to be funny!? I really enjoyed it but in the cinema I felt the reaction was very much mixed. A few folk seemed to leave a third to a half way through. Quote
manc_don Posted June 3, 2014 Author Report Posted June 3, 2014 Saw the new X-men recently. Very very good. One of my favourite x-men films. Plus Jennifer Laurence Quote
Tyrant Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 Maleficent is good. Having low expectations going in probably helped. Quote
tom_widdows Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 Saw the new X-men recently. Very very good. One of my favourite x-men films. Plus Jennifer Laurence I felt they could have done with shaving about 20mins off it. Same applies to Godzilla Quote
Tyrant Posted June 4, 2014 Report Posted June 4, 2014 Saw A Million Ways to Die in the West last night. Highly amusing. If you like Family Guy (and who doesn't) you'll like this. Quote
