Kowalski Posted January 12, 2015 Report Posted January 12, 2015 Dumb and Dumber To was better than I thought it would, with some decent laughs but certainly not a patch on the original. The Theory of Everthing was very good. Quote
manc_don Posted January 12, 2015 Author Report Posted January 12, 2015 Saw Birdman the other day, absolutely brilliant film. Edward Norton and Michael keaton at their best! Quote
Tyrant Posted January 12, 2015 Report Posted January 12, 2015 Saw Birdman the other day, absolutely brilliant film. Edward Norton and Michael keaton at their best! Agreed. Went to see it with low expectations. The trailer looked dodgy as fuck. Ended up thoroughly enjoying it. Superb acting and direction. Quote
Goldie03 Posted January 12, 2015 Report Posted January 12, 2015 I really liked The Theory of Everything - Eddie Redmayne defo deserved his Golden Globe - at times I forgot it was him and not the actual Stephen Hawking in the film I'm excited about Birdman - one of my workmates was raving about it Quote
Goldie03 Posted February 21, 2015 Report Posted February 21, 2015 Still haven 't seen Birdman so will have to sort that out soon Selma is very good Quote
manc_don Posted February 25, 2015 Author Report Posted February 25, 2015 Saw American Sniper the other day, enjoyed it. I know on a moral level its all pretty bad but as an actual film I thought it was good. Also recommend inherent vice, peculiar but great film. Quote
Tyrant Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 I went to see Selma last night. Powerful film and really well acted. Easy to forget how badly and recently we've treated our fellow humans. Quote
manc_don Posted March 17, 2015 Author Report Posted March 17, 2015 Watched black sea the other day, quite dark but good enough. Questionable accents. Then watched '71, probably the best British film I've seen in a long time. Well worth a watch. Very dark and about the troubles in northern Ireland in the 70's. But worth a watch. Quote
Tyrant Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 Recently I've seen Fury, Jersey Boys, A Life of Crime, Cinderella and Get Hard. Jersey Boys was easily the best one. Surprisingly Cinderella wasn't the worst one. Fury was a good film but aye it was depressing as fuck as you'd imagine. A Life of Crime and Get Hard were disappointing. Quote

Given the cast of get hard I was thoroughly disappointed. Glad I never watched it in the cinema! Quote
phoenix Posted April 3, 2015 Report Posted April 3, 2015 Can relate to 'Still Alice' wi' he wife being in care wi' Alzheimer's noo - early onset like Alice. Touching , moving and realistic account if the gradual deterioration that occurs. Maybe not one for the young and hopefully there will be a remedy by the time you young guys reach 50+(early) ; 75+(average); 85+(1 in 2). Julianne Moore(Alice)'s Mum was Scottish and she us proud of her heritage. Her mother, Anne (née Love; 1940–2009), was a psychologist and social worker from Greenock, Scotland, who emigrated to the United States as a child in 1950. http://tinyurl.com/ojq2ra2 Quote

manc_don Posted April 8, 2015 Author Report Posted April 8, 2015 Watched St. Vincent with Bill Murray last night, fairly amusing and a few good laugh out loud moments. One to watch with the Mrs, thats for sure. Quote
capitalred Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 I found that movie completely depressing. I know war movies are not the funniest of movies but by fuck that was hard going. Just watched that on movietube, fast forwarded through heaps of it, thought it was shit, I was searching for kajaki but couldn't find it so watched fury, waste of an hour odd Quote
