manc_don Posted April 20, 2015 Author Report Posted April 20, 2015 Watched Kidnapping Mr. Heineken last night, based on the true events in the early 80s. Not the best film but past the time away. Quote
manc_don Posted May 4, 2015 Author Report Posted May 4, 2015 Watched The Kingsman today and was pleasantly surprised, good film! Quote
manc_don Posted May 11, 2015 Author Report Posted May 11, 2015 Watched Big Hero 6 and Chef yesterday. Both decent Sunday films. The latter more so and great soundtrack to it Quote
Goldie03 Posted May 25, 2015 Report Posted May 25, 2015 Pitch perfect 2 was decent Force Majeure was rubbish Going to catch Far from the Madding Crowd this week or next Saw a trailer for Magic Mike 2 - the first one was one of the worst films I have ever seen - but I may just be tempted to head along if I can have a drink at the same time hehe Quote
tom_widdows Posted May 26, 2015 Report Posted May 26, 2015 Mad Max was just about passable. Personally I thought it was very good. Fast & Furious 7 on the other hand........ Quote
Mentorred Posted May 28, 2015 Report Posted May 28, 2015 Personally I thought it was very good. Fast & Furious 7 on the other hand........ Quote
Tyrant Posted May 29, 2015 Report Posted May 29, 2015 Saw San Andreas last night. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Although I'm not sure how much of that was learning about the score from Ibrox. :> Quote
manc_don Posted June 17, 2015 Author Report Posted June 17, 2015 Saw Jurassic World on Sunday. Enjoyed it, obviously there were glaring inconsistencies throughout the film but it was all light hearted and some good killing scenes! Worth a watch and a laugh. Quote
tom_widdows Posted June 17, 2015 Report Posted June 17, 2015 Spy is worth watching just for Jason Statham's arguments with Melissa mccarthy Quote
manc_don Posted June 21, 2015 Author Report Posted June 21, 2015 Ex machina, brilliant film about an AI. Quote

Goldie03 Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 I saw Ewen McGregor at the Edinburgh Film Festival - went to see his film about Jesus - it was absolute gash - he looked cute tho much smaller than I imagined He spent ages on the red carpet getting photos taking - have you noticed that no-one talks to celebrities anymore - all folk want is to look at them through their phone screen Quote
Goldie03 Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 The legend of Barney Thomson was pretty funny - I do like Robert Carlyle Quote
manc_don Posted August 7, 2015 Author Report Posted August 7, 2015 The legend of Barney Thomson was pretty funny - I do like Robert Carlyle Brilliant actor and probably doesn't get the plaudits he should. Quote
manc_don Posted September 11, 2015 Author Report Posted September 11, 2015 Watched Southpaw the other day, epic film. Quote
tom_widdows Posted September 11, 2015 Report Posted September 11, 2015 Thought 'Inside out' was great. Always concerned that each pixar will be as irritating as Finding Nemo but this one was up there with the likes of Toy Story Thought Mission Impossible -Rogue nation dragged a bit. Seems a lot of people slated the previous one but i thought it was much better. Either the Maze Runner: Scorch Trials or 'Legend' this weekend. See if Tom Hardy can out act Spandau ballet Quote
Tyrant Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 Inside Out is tremendous. Definitely better than Finding Nemo but Finding Nemo is excellent too IMO my opinion. Legend is brilliant. :hammer: :hammer: Quote
Tyrant Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 Went to see The Martian last night. Not a bad film. Tries a bit too hard in places to be funny and went down the route of a retro soundtrack like Avengers which didn't work IMO opinion but still well worth watching. Quote
manc_don Posted October 12, 2015 Author Report Posted October 12, 2015 Watched two movies this weekend, both worth a watch: Black Mass - Johnny Depp's latest film and a return to form imo. Brilliantly dark film about the Irish mob / FBI in Bawston. Dope - Black american comedy about "molly" / MDMA. Hilarious Quote
manc_don Posted November 3, 2015 Author Report Posted November 3, 2015 Spectre any good? Saw it on Sunday. Thought it was ace, apart from the song. Was a bit disappointed that monica belucci had such a short role though. Quote
Tyrant Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 Spectre any good? You expect a lot from a Bond film. But this one is crap. Christoph Waltz is one of my favourite actors but his role just terrible. He was underutilised. Quote
