TheDeeDon Posted December 17, 2016 Report Posted December 17, 2016 Rouge 1 is phenomenal  COuldn't agree more. A very impressive film and would add you wouldn't have to be a Star Wars fan to enjoy it. Quote
manc_don Posted December 17, 2016 Author Report Posted December 17, 2016 Watched the Accountant tonight, wasn't bad. Easy enough viewing and a few decent fight scenes. Quote
Nips_and_Tatties Posted December 18, 2016 Report Posted December 18, 2016 COuldn't agree more. A very impressive film and would add you wouldn't have to be a Star Wars fan to enjoy it. I was a bit disappointed tbh. The first hour dragged a bit and wasnt very star warsesque for me. There was absolutely no magic (using the force itself) in it. No light sabre scenes (i wont mention the end) and nobody i could really relate to unlike every other star wars film. I still enjoyed it but was disappointed. Bring back the magic please.the mystery and drama and the actual possibilitirs the 'force' can give u . 6/10 for me but each to our own. Quote
BigAl Posted December 18, 2016 Report Posted December 18, 2016 Anyone been to see the Tom Hanks one about the plane landing on The Hudson River yet Quote
Nips_and_Tatties Posted December 18, 2016 Report Posted December 18, 2016 Anyone been to see the Tom Hanks one about the plane landing on The Hudson River yet Yes mate. Enjoyable. Though not as good as 'flight' with densel Washington and that opening scene...yummy yum yum Quote
BigAl Posted December 18, 2016 Report Posted December 18, 2016 Yes mate. Enjoyable. Though not as good as 'flight' with densel Washington and that opening scene...yummy yum yum Right might give the better half an airing and take her to The Odeon one night this week to see it. Quote
Nips_and_Tatties Posted December 21, 2016 Report Posted December 21, 2016 Watched Deepwater Horizon last night. Slow start but pretty good action/drama film with Mark Wahlberg. Some great direction during the disaster. Many Aberdonians will relate to it I'm sure. 6/10 but I'm harsh Quote
BigAl Posted December 30, 2016 Report Posted December 30, 2016 Watched the Accountant tonight, wasn't bad. Easy enough viewing and a few decent fight scenes. Got around your watching it last night. Thoroughly enjoyable film. Watched the Jason Bourne one the night before and of the two The Accountant was my favourite. Quote
Nips_and_Tatties Posted January 2, 2017 Report Posted January 2, 2017 Big al Have you seen The Town with Ben Affleck? Highly recommend it. You'll love it. Quote
manc_don Posted January 2, 2017 Author Report Posted January 2, 2017 Watched the place beyond the pines last night, decent watch. Turned dark after a relatively slow start and you wondered what was going to happen. Surprised I haven't seen the town, nips. Sounds like my kinda film! Quote
Nips_and_Tatties Posted January 2, 2017 Report Posted January 2, 2017 I think ben affleck is a great actor. Its a classic oldie crime thriller type. Watch it manc Quote
Edinburghdon Posted January 2, 2017 Report Posted January 2, 2017 I think ben affleck is a great actor. Its a classic oldie crime thriller type. Watch it manc He's great nowadays, especially when he is directing too. The town is a great film, highly recommended by me too Manc Quote
RicoS321 Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 I think ben affleck is a great actor. Its a classic oldie crime thriller type. Watch it manc I think he can be very good (Affleck), but tends to appear in shite films, it's like he hasn't got a quality checker. The accountant was cliched horseshite for example, but Argo was very good. However I nearly always try and catch his films as he's got a few crackers. There's just a lot of shite to wade through first. Watched War Dogs last night. Quite decent. Quote

Elgindon Posted January 4, 2017 Report Posted January 4, 2017 Yes mate. Enjoyable. Though not as good as 'flight' with densel Washington and that opening scene...yummy yum yum Flight was brilliant.Always like a Tom Hanks film so look forward to that one. Watched a random film called Plain Truth, about an Amish girl getting pregnant and the following rigmarole.Just looking at Amish people makes me depressed, but it was a decent watch with an unexpected ending Quote
manc_don Posted January 5, 2017 Author Report Posted January 5, 2017 Rouge 1 is phenomenal  Enjoyed it, but wouldn't go that far tlg! Was a bit too cheesy at the end. Good film though. Saw it at the dominion in Edinburgh, what a cinema that is! Whole room full of lay-zee boys! Quote

manc_don Posted January 11, 2017 Author Report Posted January 11, 2017 Watched our kind of traitor the other day which was adapted from John le carre's book. Was decent enough but occasionally a bit dull and predictable. Wouldn't go out of your way to go see it. Quote
