amp Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Nice work AFC. Pleased to get Velicka, and pleased to get this guy (subject to work permit) Both seem like good players that will improve our squad. When did we become so good at transfers? Quote
BigAl Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 Not feeling good about our chances of success on appeal, give the fact that Murder Mcleod and Allan preston are two of the individuals involved in ther decision making process. Given the criteria regarding international appearances surely we always knew this would be rejected and can only assume we have a very strong line of appeal prepared. If appeal fails, then back to square one for the left back position Whats Basey up to these days ? Quote
Kowalski Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 Aberdeen FC new signing taking a big gamble Nikola faces permit D-Day in Glasgow By Charlie Allan Published: 03/09/2010 MONTENEGRO defender Nikola Vujadinovic has risked being frozen out of football in the hope of playing for Aberdeen FC. We can also reveal Aberdeen FC boss Mark McGhee has persuaded Italian club Udinese to continue paying all of the 24-year-old’s wages if his move to Pittodrie is given the all-clear on Monday. Vujadinovic had to sign a loan agreement with the Dons before the transfer window closed on Monday, despite the fact they have yet to receive a work permit for the player. McGhee will attend a tribunal in Glasgow on Monday to argue for a permit but admitted it’s not certain they will get clearance to play Vujadinovick. Great bit of business....if it comes off. Quote
maverick sheep Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 I didn't know Serbia, Montenegro or Bulgaria needed work permits for UK, but since they do I can't see how the lad can possibly qualify for a permit with no international appearances. Basey must be total mince if no one has snapped him up while we spend weeks pissing into the wind rather than sign him and I can't believe he hasn't just told us to go fuck ourselves by now. Quote
baggy89 Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 Having had a quick read of the rules on the link I posted the other day, we'd have to prove either that he is a recognised international performer or show that there is no player settled in the UK who can take the job. Maybe if Udinese are paying his wages the case will be no one is willing to play for us for free?? [ur]http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/eea/workpermits/workpermitarrangements/sportsandentertainments/[/url] As far as I can see there is an alternative i.e. he signs up at Aberdeen College as a student, is granted a permit to study then we ask for a letter confirming that he has changed his status and is now employed by Aberdeen Football Club as a footballer. http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/eea/bulgariaromania/applying/ # There will be no restrictions on Bulgarian and Romanian nationals switching from one employment category into another employment category while in the United Kingdom. (However, if an individual changes jobs, their new employer must apply for another letter of approval from us and the individual must apply for a new accession worker card.) # There are no restrictions on Bulgarian or Romanian nationals changing their status in the United Kingdom from a worker to a student, a self-employed person or a self-sufficient person. # For applications under the student internships and sectors-based scheme, there is no requirement for Bulgarian or Romanian nationals to be out of the country at the time of an application. Then again I could be talking bollocks. Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 Be interesting to see what McGhee has to say should this not come off. But the odds of that previously mentioned pair awarding anything towards us is virtually zero. Allan Preston is thoroughly unwilling to be even gracious towards AFC, in short, he's a fucking cock. Guest leith_red Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 Why in the name of lumping fuck are those pair of cunts deciding on matters of what amounts to employment law. I despair. It's quite common for tribunals - not just employment ones - to have a panel made of up legal members (usually the chair) who will have the specialist knowledge of the legal issues, and lay members, who will have knowledge of a particular field to offer expert (although probably not in this case) opinion on other aspects of the case. If the panel was just made up of solicitors, no doubt we'd be complaining that they can't make proper decisions because they don't have knowledge of football. I'm not saying it's right, just setting out why they are there. Quote

Tyrant Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 It should be dependant on his appearances for us - not his country. Quote

TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 He's got a bird's name. But this doesn't mean he can play, does it? He still needs to get the work permit from the government True it doesn't but it is a slam dunk now. Quote
mizer Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 I presume it is a formality from now on? Otherwise what was the point of the panel? Quote

Tyrant Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Has he got a work permit yet? See there was a English Premiershit player from Bulgaria had a permit knocked back last week by the UK government cos he didn't have enough international appearances. Aye but we are the famous Aberdeen! We get what we ask for. Quote
maverick sheep Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 http://www.thesun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/3132524/Nik-was-just-here-for-the-gear.html NIKOLA VUJADINOVIC watched his first game in Scotland when his dad came to Glasgow to sell outdoor clothes. Now he's gearing up to help Aberdeen climb the SPL table. The defender has had two years in the wilderness at Udinese. But he knows exactly what he's let himself in for, having watched a game here as a kid. He revealed: "I'd been to Scotland before because my father works for Trespass and often comes over to Glasgow. I went with him to watch a Rangers game at Ibrox when I was 16, although I can't remember who they were playing. "But because of this I know everything I needed to know about Scottish football - that Huns are cunts. "I already knew Aberdeen is a big and important club here. "Of course I knew about Rangers and Celtic but also the other teams like Hibernian and Hearts, for example. "It's a good league. Football in Scotland is fast and I like it so I was very excited when Aberdeen showed an interest. "Everyone tells me maybe this kind of football will suit me because I'm a good jumper and like to play fast. To play in Britain is a dream for me." Vujadinovic had been tipped for the top when he left CSKA Sofia to sign a five-year deal with Udinese. But when he was sidelined with injury, then saw the sports director who signed him leave the club, he found himself down the pecking order. Belgrade-born Vujadinovic has been capped for Montenegro Under-21s but now wants to play for Serbia. He explained: "I was born in Serbia but when Yugoslavia separated, it was Serbia and Montenegro together at first. "Then when they split again I was called to play for Montenegro's Under-21s. "When I went to Udinese, the Serbia coach Radomir Antic called to say he would come to watch me. I decided it might be better to play for Serbia but it is still not definite." Vujadonovic isn't sure if he'll be fit enough to make it in time for the Dons' trip to Tannadice tomorrow. He said: "My fitness is ok but I've used a lot of energy these last few days because I was travelling so much. "I went from Udine to Belgrade then London and Aberdeen. Two days before coming back here I was in Glasgow because of work permit issues. "So I found my first training session a bit hard because of the travelling. I don't know about Saturday - hopefully next week I'll be 100 per cent ready." Chris Maguire is hoping to gun down Under-21 striking partner David Goodwillie. The Dons kid has made a habit of scoring vital goals for Billy Stark's side and he credits United ace Goodwillie's help in bringing out his best form. Maguire said: "David and I have played well together right throughout the campaign and have a good understanding for Scotland. But that's put to one side at Tannadice. We have actually come through the ranks from the Victory Shield onwards together and that partnership has just got stronger. "We will see what happens and have a laugh before the game but hopefully I can put one over on him on Saturday. "He had a great season with Dundee United last time round and helped them win the Scottish Cup Final to show real potential at such a young age. "They had the sort of campaign that we hope to have ourselves this time round." Quote
