xGav8 Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Midfielder wants to return to Aberdeen FC Hendrie in plea to McGhee FORMER Aston Villa star Lee Hendrie today pleaded for Aberdeen FC to resurrect a deal to take him to Pittodrie. The ex-England international today revealed he was so convinced he would be signing for Aberdeen FC he told his family they would be relocating to the Granite City. Hendrie, 33, was set to sign a contract after impressing in a 1-0 pre-season friendly defeat to Dunfermline. Then it went quiet and Aberdeen FC boss Mark McGhee snapped up Scotland cap Paul Hartley. Former Premier League star Hendrie has been left in limbo and forced to play Sunday league football with his friends to keep his fitness up. But Hendrie, who was released by Derby County, admits he would still love to join Aberdeen FC He said: “If Aberdeen were to show their interest again I would definitely be interested. Quote
RDU_64 Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Full back positions need to be filled first and foremost. Don't think we will be going back in for Hendrie with the arrival of Folly and Hartely. Quote
mizer Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Nae chance mate, Hartley has your wages. Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Aye, the full back positions currently completely vacant, so no ta. But who knows, we have 7 strikers or thereabouts so whats another player that clearly isn't good enough in a position we have cover in? Quote
Harcus Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Would have been a replacement for Fyvie for the season perhaps? But no chance anyway, we've no fullbacks and fuck all wages spare. Quote
dickofthedons Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 If he is that desperate then he can do a Dempsey, play as an amateur until Jan and prove he worth a contract. After Folly and Hartley who do we have, incase of injury/suspension? Fyvie is out so is it just Young with any experience? I agree if its gonna cost us a lot then we shouldnt consider it but if he really is that desperate to play for us then its worth looking into, is he is just desperate for any team and a pay check then he can fuck off Quote
baggy89 Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Has he not signed for Reading? Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Nah, seems he's just on trial there too. Quote
Ptayles Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Just tell him that he would need one helluva paycut Quote
tom_widdows Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 The ex-England international today revealed he was so convinced he would be signing for Aberdeen FC he told his family they would be relocating to the Granite City. Derby really must be a shit hole if they were happy about that Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Derby really must be a shit hole if they were happy about that Aberdeen is a pretty nice place. No worse than the other "shitholes" he could end up. Quote
glasgowdon Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Fuck it, offer him a grand a week. Folly, Hartley and Young playing in the middle could go horribly wrong if/when one of them gets injured. Quote

glasgowdon Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 One of the full backs could cover in Fyvie's absence . . . . Oh aye, silly me. Quote
manc_don Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 Fuck it, offer him a grand a week. Folly, Hartley and Young playing in the middle could go horribly wrong if/when one of them gets injured. This. But I suppose were not in a financial position to do such a thing. Quote
glasgowdon Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 This. But I suppose were not in a financial position to do such a thing. Not in a footballing position to not offer a deal. Usual transfer farce at Pittodrie. Quote
McMaster Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 Isnt it nice turning down players, rather than them turning their noses up at us days, hours, minutes before the transfer window slams shut! Quote
