manc_don Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 The acid test is not only for Maguire, but for the team in general. They need to convince the fans they're worth watching. That said, i still hope Maguire keeps performing the way he is. Mcghee will have no choice but to keep him there. Quote
Kowalski Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 ‘Aberdeen FC’s Maguire can cap it all at Celtic Park’ Chris can learn from Kenny says Dons boss By Charlie Allan Published: 06/11/2010 ABERDEEN FC’s Chris Maguire was today challenged to use Celtic Park as a stage to show he’s ready to perform for Scotland at the highest level. National coach Craig Levein is considering calling up Aberdeen FC striker Maguire for this month’s friendly clash against the Faroe Islands at Pittodrie. Aberdeen FC boss Mark McGhee reckons Maguire can guarantee a crack at his first senior cap if he stars in their SPL clash with Celtic in Glasgow. McGhee said: “I’m sure Craig will be keen to see how Chris performs at Celtic Park. “If Chris hopes to eventually become a star with Scotland he’s going to have to play as well at club level, on a regular basis, as Kenny Miller does.” How the fuck can he be close to a Scotland cap? Conceded 12 and Scored a measely 2 goals what Can we change for Cally? 3 or 5 at the back? Velicka to start for vernon or maguire? Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Is Velicka not out till Xmas? He has had several weeks to get fit and looks so far behind the rest it isn't funny anymore. Let's bear in mind he's miles behind a team that could get so embarassingly destroyed as they did. Quote
maverick sheep Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Is Velicka not out till Xmas? Are you actually trying to say stoney would come online and post messages about things he knows nothing about? You don't think he's got better things to do than that? Andrius ‘nowhere near match fit’ By Sean Wallace Published: 04/11/2010 STRUGGLING: Aberdeen FC's Andrius Velicka. More Pictures ABERDEEN FC manager Mark McGhee today revealed on-loan striker Andrius Velicka has no chance of starting at Parkhead on Saturday. The Lithuanian, on loan from Rangers, is struggling with an ankle injury. McGhee also revealed Velicka is also unlikely to be fit enough to start against Inverness Caley Thistle at Pittodrie next week. McGhee said: “Velicka is nowhere near match fit and he will not start for Aberdeen FC against Celtic at the weekend. “He is not going to be fit for another few weeks.” Velicka has played just 73 minutes of football since his move from Rangers on the final day of the summer transfer window. TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Nothing surprises me anymore about this absolute lunacy that characterises McGhee's managership. Brings in Velicka, no been fit for years. Plays him FROM THE FUCKING START, nothing to suggest he's anything like fit or sharp. Still proceeds to field the cunt and NOW suddenly reckons he's not fit AND won't be for weeks. Should never ever have been near that first team at this stage and to have him replace Maguire against St Mirren was a piece of astoundingly, crushingly awful stupidity especially in view of this latest bit of "news". Useless motherfucker. Quote
Slim Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 I see Maguire's been left out of the latest U21 squad. I wonder if that means he's getting called up... Quote

Jute Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Or that he will be too old for the U21's next campaign..... Pretty sure thats what it is. Also notice not one player from Dons in squad. Not a good sign for a team supposedly relying on its youth system. Quote
