Guest leith_red Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 While I have sympathy for the way the refs have been treated, it would interesting when some foreign refs came in and did a better job this weekend! Quote
Tyrant Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 They won't though will they? They can't be much worse! One thing I enjoyed about Calderwood getting us into Europe was the vast difference between the refs we got then and the SPL ones we were used to. Quote

Aye, sitting in the centre of Munich with all my mates enjoying a few beers just before getting the train to the nicest stadium i've ever been in to watch us play one of the best teams in the world, all I could think about was the standard of refereeing - they were fantastic those guys. Aye, sitting in the centre of Aberdeen with all my mates enjoying a few beers just before walking down to my stadium to watch us play one of the best teams in the world (and get a result), all I could think about was the standard of refereeing - hope this guy will be as awesome as the last. Azteca1903 Posted November 23, 2010 Author Report Posted November 23, 2010 Setback for SFA contingency plan - Icelandic refs support the strike. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/9216271.stm Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 Solidarity. You'd never have guessed. It would seem there's no going to be any fitba as the refs seem hell bent on "making a point". The "point" I would take is that they feel even more self important and the centre of attention than they ever have the right to be or should be. But a big thankyou to Celtic, utter, utter cunts that you are. Quote
mizer Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 I take it this weekend is off since every referee association in Northern Europe has said no? Quote
Tyrant Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 They're going to trust the players to be sporting and fair and they'll officiate their own games. Quote
baggy89 Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 Surely we could just get Willie Miller back. We did much better back when he used to ref our games. Quote

Ironically the ref at the Allianz Arena game was sh*te. if we so much as looked at a Bayern player a foul was given. I'm pretty sure with a stronger ref, it'd have been closer. probably 4-1... Quote

Still - generally I felt the standard of offciating was much higher. Quote

TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 I'm pretty sure with a goalkeeper with stronger wrists it'd have been closer. I remember very little of the match, being the drunkest I've ever been at a match but what I do remember was the ref being very shite towards us and the highlights giving that view some credibility. That said, the keeper didn't help but not being in any way as good as them in general didn't either. Quote
mizer Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 Breaking news (apparently): Welsh refs to officiate this weekend. Quote
Kowalski Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 Breaking news (apparently): Welsh refs to officiate this weekend. Bunch of sheep shaggers. We might get some bias!? Quote
mizer Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 Bunch of sheep shaggers. We might get some bias!? John Reid has already sent a letter of complaint. Quote
glasgow sheep Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 5 Live seemed to be suggesting that all SPL games and the Alba final would definitely be going ahead, yet Radio Scotland don't seem to have a clue what is happening Quote
manc_don Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 From BBC/Retard: Scotland's referees will today tell the Scottish Football Association that they will not call off their planned weekend strike, but Dutch referees are poised to ensure that the six Scottish Premier League fixtures and the ALBA Challenge Cup final will go ahead. (Daily Record) Quote
Tyrant Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Aparently the Alba Cup Final is the only game that's guaranteed to go ahead. Quote
mizer Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 STV and Herald confirming games to go ahead in SPL and Alba cup this weekend. Referees to be announced for each game at 3pm today. SFL games may also go ahead. Quote
Harcus Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I see the SPL games and Alba final are going to go ahead after the SFA rounded up a rag-tag bunch of refs from all over Europe to officiate. Quote
