All SPL games, the Alba Cup Final, Cup Replays and after a ballot Morton v Falkirk are all going ahead.        Why though is everyone pussy footing around the fact this all Celtics fault? Their fucking paranoia, twat of a manager and war-monger of a chairman are to blame. They have done the unthinkable and made of feel sympathy with some of the worst refs i've ever seen.

Apparently its Isreali and Polish refs coming over. The ref's will have to watch out coz they might not have jobs to come back to after the strike, the Polish might steal them.

Maybe every game in every country should be managed by foreign ref, if the refs dont have a clue what anyone is saying and has no clue who is who then they everyone involved can get down to just playing the fucking game

Stirling saying they are looking for compensation for loss of income from moving it to a week night.

Now that 9 odd games are off and peoples Saturdays have been ruined coz of the refs do they not realise they will get even more abuse when they return?

Referees from Poland and Portugal have ridden to the rescue of Scottish Football as 16 officials will fly in for the weekend’s games. All SPL matches will go ahead as normal as will Sunday’s ALBA Cup final between Ross County and Queens of the South. Of the Scottish Football League fixtures only one – Greenock Morton versus Falkirk – will be played after a ballot was organised to draw out the one and only game that could be played.

The SFA had been searching across Europe to find referees of the standard to handle the weekend matches in the SPL. And have now secured 12 officials from Poland and four from Portugal.

A statement from the Polish FA to STV Sport said, “We are happy we can help the Scottish FA and we are happy that our referees can go to Scotland and gain experience, which will be good for them. We don’t want to be involved in politics, all we want to do is help out.”

Stewart Regan, Scottish FA chief executive announced, “We have successfully managed to secure more match officials to take charge of games threatened by the Scottish Category One referees’ withdrawal of labour this weekend.

“Thanks to the hard work of various departments at the Scottish FA throughout the day, and the support of the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League, we are now able to confirm a number of games will go ahead as planned with match officials from various National Associations.

“All matches in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League will go ahead, as will the Alba Challenge Cup final, the three Scottish Cup replays and Greenock Morton v Falkirk in the Irn Bru First Division. The First Division match was determined by the drawing of lots by the Scottish Football League.

“The referees who have offered their services will either be FIFA-approved or will have achieved Category One status in their respective countries. I repeat it is deeply sad that we have arrived at this situation but as I have stated previously, it is incumbent on the Scottish FA to honour our obligations to our league partners.”

Other associations offered their help, thought to be Malta and Luxembourg, but the SFA are insisting that the referees are on the FIFA list or Category One within their own country.

The Football Associations of Northern Ireland, Wales, France, England, Sweden, Republic of Ireland, Holland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark and Iceland all declined to send any of their referees to Scotland, in a show of solidarity for their Scottish colleagues.

However there could be questions asked about Polish refereeing involvement, as the country has been plagued by corruption and match fixing over the years. A recent probe in 2009, led to 192 arrests of referees, players, coaches and club officials. And in January, the Polish FA PZPN was trying to sue a website after it claimed the PZPN’s leadership was corrupt.

Totally agree re all the pussyfooting around this being Celtic's fault, Lennon's behaviour has been a disgrace and their conspiracy theories / paranoia would be fucking hilarious if it hadn't resulted in serious consequences for others.

It is the SFL teams I feel sympathy for this weekend, as they more than anyone depend on weekend gates to survive. Celtic game goes ahead, as do all SPL games, but most lower division games off.

3 sets of Officials were due to come from Poland. Surely the SFA should come out now to say which 3 matches this will affect. Even if they do say they are trying to arrange alternatives fans should know if their match is in serious doubt.

The Poles excuse is bullshit too. Apparently they are needed for fixtures in Poland now  ::) Wouldnt have been like the SFA not to tell the Poles why we needed some refs and once they found out they've gone along with every other country, would it?

The Football Associations of Luxembourg, Israel and Portugal will send referees to take charge of games in Scotland this weekend. But the Polish FA have cancelled the trip of three referees it said it would send.

STV understands the FA of Malta are awaiting confirmation from the Scottish Football Association as to whether or not their referees are required. This list will continue to update throughout Friday, as more referees - and the fixtures they will take charge of - are announced.

LIST OF REFEREES FROM LUXEMBOURG

Alain Hamer (referee), Francois Mangen and Christian Holtgen (assistants).

LIST OF REFEREES FROM ISRAEL

Meir Levi and Eli Hachmon, assistants to be announced.

LIST OF REFEREES FROM PORTUGAL

Joao Ferreira and Cosme Machado will serve both as referee and fourth official, swapping roles as they take charge of two games, one on Saturday and one one on Sunday. Both will have the same assistants, Luis Ramos and Ignacio Pereira.

The Scottish Football Association has confirmed Luxembourg official Alain Hamer will referee both Rangers and Celtic's fixtures this weekend. The vastly experienced official will take charge of Celtic v Inverness on Saturday, before heading to Tayside to referee Dundee United v Rangers on Sunday.

On Saturday, Israeli Meir Levy will take charge of Hamilton v St Mirren, Cosme Machado from Portugal will do Hibernian v St Johnstone and Eli Hacrom, also from Israel, will referee Kilmarnock v Aberdeen.

On Sunday, Hamer will take the early kick-off between Dundee United and Rangers before Portugal's Joao Ferreira takes charge of Motherwell v Hearts at 2.15pm.

Malta's Christian Lautier will referee Beith v Airdrie United in the Scottish Cup on Saturday, with his countryman Marco Borg given the ALBA Challenge Cup final between Queen of the South and Ross County on Sunday.

Same ref for both ugly sisters' games?

Hope someone's told him to make sure he gives them bothe the exact same number of penalties, cards, fouls, corners, throw-ins, etc, etc, otherwise racellicsoitisbyrawaybigman will be screaming "BIAS" and demanding he be shot.

I personally hope the new refs manage to do what the lot in the world cup usually do. ie the smaller countries produce refs that know what they're doing and put our pampered cunts to shame.

I'm a union man and support strike action but the refs aren't a fucking union. they're a bunch of whiney useless fucks who should've been made to improve their standards, or else been sacked long before now.

I hope these guys at the weekend earn permanent contracts with us.
