glasgowdon Posted January 18, 2012 Author Report Posted January 18, 2012 Aye, for finally actually showing up to an El Clásico... Been the best player on the park so far. Might not show up at El Clásico but he shows up everywhere else. Hence they are 5 points ahead. Quote
rocket_scientist Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 Mourinho is a genius. This reminds of 10 man Inter when they held Barca. The straight line of five at the back supported by secondary workers in front whenever they don't have possession. Barca have so much quality they are capable of producing magic but Jose is genius whatever happens. Ronaldo left is exposing Dani Alves' defensive frailty. Poor reactions by Pinto for the goal. Slow. Pretty much my thoughts exactly. He's using Higuain and Benzema the way Barca use Cesc and Alexis: they draw players to leave space for Messi and that's what Real are doing for Ronaldo. In other news, Busquets is a joke. Quote
rocket_scientist Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 Never seen Iniesta look so bad these 40 minutes (other than the sublime trap out of the air early doors). Messi rubbish so far too. So these two will inevitably combine and make magic now. Quote

rocket_scientist Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 He shot from a tight angle. It should have been stopped by Pinto's left foot. He closed down well in the corner once, made a strong run that came to nothing but can't see whatever he's done as deserving of superlatives this game so far. He's a fantastic player. No doubt. Just don't see any individual standing out that much tonight. It's the formation and strategy that's fantastic. Like two lines of five and superb throttling of Barca's many creative output potential. His tracking back and stepover to make space for his goal was good. He's not had an amazing game but has been the best on the park. Quote
BigAl Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 2-1 Barca Fabregas 1st goal scorer £10 @ 40/1 Fool and his money Quote
Kowalski Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 This has got 1-3 written all over it. Real inviting Barca forward far too much, yet again. Quote
rocket_scientist Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 Puyol never loses. What a guy. Pepe the cheat exposed. Agree re Ronaldo had a good first half and best on pitch. Just not "amazing". Quote
glasgowdon Posted January 18, 2012 Author Report Posted January 18, 2012 This has got 1-3 written all over it. Real inviting Barca forward far too much, yet again. Yep, still stand by my bet mentioned above. Happy to see Altintop doing well. Had a great time in "his" bar in Munich. Quote

glasgowdon Posted January 18, 2012 Author Report Posted January 18, 2012 Was that a joke or does he have a bar in Munich? Long story, if he didn't have a bar when we arrived he certainly did when we left. Quote
rocket_scientist Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 Pinto is finished. An old man who's reactions are dead. Benzema's header would have gone in at the near post. Zero anticipation happening in Pinto's heid. Quote
Edinburghdon Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 That was absolutely pathetic from Pepe there, no excuse for that. *Edit* And busquets too (although not quite to the same extent) Players doing shite like that ruins football. Quote
topcorner Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 That was absolutely pathetic from Pepe there, no excuse for that. Aye, was just laughing at that. Gotta stamp that out with retrospective punishments. Quote

rocket_scientist Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 I can't see what's changed this half? The dominance of possession is remarkable. Real haven't got a look in. Did Pep just blast them at HT and demand higher tempo and better feet? Amazing turnaround. Ronaldo switching to Abidal ain't gonna work! Quote

rocket_scientist Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 Barcelona dominated possession in the first half as well. Yes we saw that but they weren't nearly as effective. Something had changed this half and I'm struggling to see what. Can't believe how much room they're leaving for Iniesta on the left wing although he's failed to do anything with it. Quote
tlg1903 Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 2nd half barca were all over them and well worth the win Quote
Azteca1903 Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Fit did Pepe do? Stamped on Messi's hand when he was on the ground. Also a main culprit in some of the simulation that was going on. Quote
rocket_scientist Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Dani Alves scores with one of the best struck shots in history. 2 late goals at end of the first half to send the cheating Madristas home the tink again. Quote
