mizer Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Good, hopefully this means UEFA have grown a pair. Quote
Edinburghdon Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Expect them to spend big this summer then! Quote
Tyrant Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 Wonder if it'll be as strict as the one Seveco got. I trust they'll splash the cash this summer. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 And to think some folk used to hold them up as some bastion of morality. Utter nonsense then and even moreso now. Quote

Tyrant Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 Sure I read somewhere that their ban had been or was being "temporarily lifted". Quote
Edinburghdon Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 Sure I read somewhere that their ban had been or was being "temporarily lifted". Suspended pending appeal, same as the situation when Chelsea were handed a transfer ban. Quote
Kowalski Posted August 20, 2014 Report Posted August 20, 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28866189 Barcelona will be unable to sign players until January 2016 once the current transfer window shuts, after world governing body Fifa rejected the club's appeal against a transfer ban. The Spaniards were given the 14-month ban after being found to have breached rules on signing international players under the age of 18. It was suspended after they appealed, allowing them to sign Luis Suarez. Scandalous. The signing of Suarez should be cancelled! Quote
Mentorred Posted August 20, 2014 Report Posted August 20, 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28866189 Scandalous. The signing of Suarez should be cancelled! Unlike Suarez, seems like UEFA's bark is worse than it's bite. Quote
Tyrant Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28866189 Scandalous. The signing of Suarez should be cancelled! What about their signing of shite players such as Vermaelen? I'd be delighted if the Suarez transfer got cancelled. Quote
Kowalski Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 What about their signing of shite players such as Vermaelen? I'd be delighted if the Suarez transfer got cancelled. Not that it'll happen but they shouldn't have been allowed to sign anyone, and the signings should be annulled. Quote
Tyrant Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 Not that it'll happen but they shouldn't have been allowed to sign anyone, and the signings should be annulled. You're forgetting that Barcelona are a massive money making machine. Would the powers that be risk changing that just because they broke the rules? Not in a month of Sundays. PTB: "Hey, Barca. You're taking the piss now so you need to be punished. You're getting a signing ban." Barca: "But that might compromise our ability to keep money pouring into the game." PTB: "Fair point. Okay then.. appeal the ban, we'll suspend it, you go absolutely mental on the signings and that should sustain you until our meaningless punishment expires." Quote
Kowalski Posted May 25, 2015 Report Posted May 25, 2015 Ancelotti binned. Benitez favourite to take over. No surprise. Quote
manc_don Posted May 26, 2015 Report Posted May 26, 2015 Wish I'd put some money on it, a mate mentioned this about 3 weeks ago. Can't say I'm surprised, benitez would also fit the bill. Quote
Jute Posted May 31, 2018 Report Posted May 31, 2018 Zidane's quit. So did he go of his own volition or was it a case of jumping before he was pushed. Quote
RicoS321 Posted May 31, 2018 Report Posted May 31, 2018 So did he go of his own volition or was it a case of jumping before he was pushed. Sounded like they were surprised by it, so I reckon it was his own choice. Leaving on a high. Seems logical in the fickle world of management. Quote
CvB Posted June 1, 2018 Report Posted June 1, 2018 Sounded like they were surprised by it, so I reckon it was his own choice. Leaving on a high. Seems logical in the fickle world of management. Saw some Tim on twitter saying how he was worried that Rodgers would be tempted by the Real Madrid gig and thus dismantle the squad he has at parkhead by taking key players with him. I really hope to fuck that the post was written with more than a hint of sarcasm. Quote
Jute Posted August 17, 2020 Report Posted August 17, 2020 Barca coach sacked tonight. https://www.forbes.com/sites/tomsanderson/2020/08/17/fc-barcelona-fire-quique-setien-from-head-coach-role-following-humiliating-bayern-munich-ucl-loss/ No surprise really. Ronald Koeman being touted as his replacement. Quote
