Mentorred Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 ...as they are every year, and every year they get voted back in. They are not up every year. It is every 2 or 3 years. Milne has not been up for a year or 2. Although last time he got voted out he vetod the vote cause he was the main shareholder. Quote

Mentorred Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 who has a vote? I have a vote and so do my parent's. We bought a family share plan when they did that a good few years ago. Quote
Dandy_Don Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 SACK THE BOARD. Cnuts the lot o' them. Quote
Reekie_Red Posted December 1, 2010 Author Report Posted December 1, 2010 Jocky Scott (6.1%) Sacked twice as dundee manager To be fair, Scott was last sacked by Dundee when he had them in pole position. They were still in pole position, albeit had surrendered the bulk of their 15 point lead at the top of the league. It was a knee-jerk reaction by Melville because he didn't think Scott could keep the club at the top of the league. Turns out Scott's replacement Chisholm made things worse by helping drag the club into administration again Scott would actually be on my shortlist to replace McGhee Quote
manc_don Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 I thought it was proved that he was manager when they had a huge slump after a great start to the season?!? Quote
stoney Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 I dont think Scott could do anything differantly than Mcghee. I dont know a manager in the world who could work with the team we have. All our big earners are letting us down Quote

baggy89 Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 You do know what a manager does, don't you? There's a clue in the word manager Quote

stoney Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 One of the many to blame for our poor league position - to blame it all on him is worryingly short sighted, and just leaves the same problem for the next manager to try and overcome Quote
mizer Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 One of the many to blame for our poor league position - to blame it all on him is worryingly short sighted, and just leaves the same problem for the next manager to try and overcome But it his his responsibility to ensure that the players are playing to the fullness of their ability too, not just the bad formations, random selection of players for the start of games, slow substitutions, crap shittyness etc Quote
Reekie_Red Posted December 2, 2010 Author Report Posted December 2, 2010 The board must've been reading my post. Perfect timing, imho. We've got a week without fixtures due to the weather. There's still the best part of a month left to get a manager in in-time for the opening of the transfer window. Whilst the new man may not be able to do too much in the window, he may be able to get some clubs to take one or two of the dross that pull on the red shirt each week. And the new man will have half a season to try to turn things around. But who? Quote
manc_don Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 So phase one is complete, why do we need to stop now? We still need further change at the club. The same issues still need to be raised at the AGM. McGhee was part of the problem, but only minor in comparrison to Milne. Quote

The same issues still need to be raised at the AGM. McGhee was part of the problem, but only minor in comparrison to Milne. Agreed pressure should still be applied to the board especially our Director of Football. He was responsible for giving JC 3 year deal then firing him a year later and also for hiring McGhee. I really feel he has to go and should have no part in the hiring of McGhee's replacement. Quote
capitalsharpie Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 were the board waiting until the last possible moment to sack before the AGM so to deflect criticism from them? They now seem to be pro active? Quote
Reekie_Red Posted December 3, 2010 Author Report Posted December 3, 2010 Agreed. McGhee was only part of the problem ... although hiring a raft of 3rd-rate players was bad enough, nevermind the dismissal of Leighton, was fully pinned on him (and don't even get me started on his handling of Aluko). I think the only decent thing Miller has done was persuade Calderwood/Nicholl to come to the Dons in the first place. It was Calderwood who managed to do the magnificent task of persuading the likes of Severin, Aluko, Lee Miller, Langfield, Nicholson, Jamie Smith and Noel Whelan (imagine all of those guys in our squad right now!) to join the Dons. It wasn't Calderwood who failed to persuade these guys to stay with the club - especially in the summer of 2008 when we lost so many players that we really really needed to keep ahold of. I believe 2008 was the critical year of failure for us. The only up-point was the draw against Bayern. We've never really recovered from losing the likes of Nicholson, Clark and Hart (and Anderson from the previous year). Keeping someone like Severin happy would've been vital in our bid to keeping a degree of solidity in the team too. The men behind most of the above decisions that culminated in the above players leaving is Willie Miller. He's got to go. He's a waste of money. The only person in a similar position to his who actually did a decent job was Dave Cormack. But he refuses to work at an Aberdeen that has Milne at the helm ... yet another problem. There is investment available to the club ... but not whilst Milne is involved. Why would any investor want to plant money in the club when the man who has allowed the club to get into so much debt is still at the helm? That's just another waste of money. Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 Who are the potential investors and do they have the financial clout Milne has AND the bollocks to use some of it? Quote
Reekie_Red Posted December 3, 2010 Author Report Posted December 3, 2010 Cummings has said time and time again he'd love to invest in the Dons. He last mentioned this only a couple of months ago. But each time he has hesitated because Milne is at the helm. How willing would you be to invest in a club when its chairman ripped publically ripped you a new arsehole ten years ago? Mind you, Cummings was plotting to overthrown Milne and Donald at the time, so its no wonder Milne chucked him out of the club Quote

Tyrant Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 Hasn't Milne always said recently that he'd step down if someone wanted to take over? Quote
