Must be tough for genuine life-long huns though.

What we would do if the Dons were being run into the ground by many different people, but in order to keep the club afloat it required bums on seats every 2 weeks!  It would be extremely tough on the fans.

There are many life-long huns that still believe that they'll be back to where they were at some point.  There is a certain amount head-in-the-sand about that fantasy but given their fan-base then it could easily be a reality.

The problem is that they haven't addressed the problem that led them to where they are today.  They're still spending way more than they need to and using funds that they simply do not have.

Realistically if someone with a few quid bought the club over, started with a clean slate, paid marginally more for players than the rest of the league that they are currently in, pinching the cream of the crop like they used to and worked their way up the leagues with a tight reign on the finances, bankrolled by their huge, deluded fan-base, then there's no reason they couldn't pick up steam very quickly and be 'back where they should be' at the top of our league.

Luckily for us they have no idea how to do this without spending money they do not have.

Until they pull the plug once and for all then I'm still not convinced that isn't a possiblity.

I'd like to think we'd have shown far more humility from the outset of the situation. Something they haven't done from top to bottom of that wretched club. Even Dave King, the crook, said that whatever happened to the huns, they'd all - supporters, board, management, players - have to show a greater degree of humility this time round.

But in their true spirit, they've done nothing of the sort and instead acted as they always have; with a sickening belief of entitlement as they try to bully and railroad their way around Scottish football, giving not a second thought to the integrity of the game or to the people and companies they owe substantial amounts of cash to.

From BBC

Cash-strapped Rangers have cancelled Christmas at Ibrox, with non-executive director Derek Llambias sending an email to staff telling them there will be none of the usual seasonal gifts and no party this year.

Aye that'll save them

And

Former Celtic midfielder Stiliyan Petrov reckons the collapse of Rangers has hit Celtic hard in terms of their readiness to compete on the European stage.

Excuses from the apologist other arse-cheek  :hammer:>:D:hammer:

Keep up Kow  ;)

Strange timing given they have a game tonight.

Kind of explains why Butcher withdrew his Motherwell application

Well it takes a while to cash cheques for £1.4million so he'll be wanting to get the process started before the Christmas shut down

Reports are apparently as of yet unconfirmed and now saying he has tendered his resignation

Hmmmmmm  the article on the beeb says that he has offered to walk but it's yet to accepted and he's still expected be charge tonight. It also says he would be due a settlement, I was under the impression that a voluntary resignation meant you got no pay off.

I wonder if the board is going to reject his resignation, the fans then lay off fat sally and the board takes his flak instead for not accepting

If it's a "rolling contract" and he has handed in his notice now, does that mean he's going to be there for another 12 months (well, let's be honest, 12 weeks before they go tits up again) then go? I do hope so.

Time to bring in John Brown!

Not in football seemingly

Do shite and get sacked - Get your contract paid up

Do shite and resign - Get your contract paid up

It appears the only way you don't get paid off is if you are sacked due to a criminal charge (Seem to recall a dons player from the Mcghee era getting punted midway through the contract over an illegal drugs charge)
