tom_widdows
The gift that at the moment just keeps on giving http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22035246 Rangers are facing a legal bill after a panel judged they should pay the expenses of five former players they were in contract disputes with. Sone Aluko, Kyle Lafferty, Steven Naismith, Jamie Ness and Allan McGregor all quit the club when it was placed into liquidation last year. The players refused to transfer their contracts from the old company to the new one, which the club challenged. The panel says Rangers should pay all legal bills relating to the dispute. The panel was established and facilitated under the Scottish Football Association's Articles of Association after agreement was reached by the club and the players over who should represent each side of the dispute, with a chair appointed to review both side's claims. However, the SFA is not directly involved in the arbitration process and has no influence over any decisions taken by the panel.

Kowalski
Craig Whyte has been ordered to pay £18m to the finance firm Ticketus after he lost a claim against him at the High Court in London. The firm, which provided nearly £27m to help the businessman purchase Rangers Football Club two years ago, said it had also been awarded interest and costs. The former chairman of Rangers has until 26 April to lodge an appeal. The court battle has no effect on current operations at Ibrox. The judgement, handed down last Friday, ordered Mr Whyte to to re-pay £17.7m - plus £680,000 in interest, as well as legal costs. Ticketus, which is part of Octopus Investments, said the court had ruled that Mr Whyte failed to disclose his business background when he signed for the finance in return for a portion of three years of season ticket sales. Does he even have that kind of money to pay?

Kowalski
The Scottish FA has written to Rangers chief executive Charles Green seeking clarification about his business dealings with Craig Whyte. Whyte, who bought Rangers from Sir David Murray in 2011, is threatening to go to court to prove he still owns the club's assets. Those assets were transferred to Green's consortium after the club could not be saved from liquidation. And Green has insisted Whyte has no claim on Rangers. The Ibrox club began this season in Scottish Division Three after obtaining the SFA membership that had previously been held by Rangers in the Scottish Premier League. "We have to seek the facts and that's what we've done," said SFA chief executive Stewart Regan. "We've written to Mr Green, as chief executive of the club, and asked him to respond to a number of very specific points about the revelations last weekend. "And once we've got those answers, we'll be able to decide how we deal with it."

Kowalski
Ouch: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-22099662 Police have carried out a series of raids relating to the purchase of Rangers Football Club by Craig Whyte from Sir David Murray. Police Scotland said they had "carried out a number of searches" in at addresses in both Scotland and England. The statement said: "These searches related to both domestic and business premises. "This remains an ongoing investigation, and no further information can be provided at this stage".
BigAl
Massive crowd of 8,000 at the Hunnery last night to witness the first ever visit of their Irish cousins Linfield. This hard on the heels of the crwod at Queens Park last weekend being 30,000 down on the same fixture earlier this season. Looks like the filth are deserting the sinking ship like rats. Contrast that with a crowd of almost 9000 at Firhill for the game against morton last night. Looks like the balance is swinging, and Der Hun are now apparently Glasgow's third team
