Its a bit worrying that every decent player we've tried to sign we've been fked over by other clubs getting them at the last minute. This loons been 10 minutes from signing for about a fortnight and we're still going to get him?

If he's still in Plymouth he'll have been affected by the weather. Good lot fell here and the further South-west you go the more they have had apparently.

Think he flew from Birmingham. Maybe he still lives in the Midlands - he played for Coventry until 2008. I think he played alongside Folly at Plymouth when they were there.

Indeed, will be good if he signs. Hopefully a bit of time to get up to speed and even if not totally match fit at least there is the east fife game coming up which would be good for a start.

Not sure a cup tie is the place to test out confusing concepts such as "formation", "balance" and "tactics".

Arguably, during the season, there is no good time to try this unless it is behind closed doors!

Where is the broom cupboard pic if the club expected this to be sorted yesterday?!?

Aberdeen have this afternoon signed Scotland International David McNamee. The right back, who has been capped by his country on four occasions, becomes Craig Brown's first signing.

The full back completed his medical at Pittodrie this morning and has put pen to paper on a deal until the end of the season.

The 30 year old started his career at St Mirren in 1997 before moving to the English Premiership and joining Blackburn Rovers. He then returned to Scotland to play for Livingston where he won the Scottish League Cup in 2004. In 2006 he again moved south to play for Championship side Coventry City. In 2008 he moved to Plymouth Argyle.

David has been allocated squad number 3.

Welcome aboard! I hope you're a success!  Feels like an age since we had a right back.

I've been thinking about that and cant actually remember our last proper right back who wasn't some converted centre half/midfielder/winger

Broon doesn't sound too optimistic on McNamee's injury. Quite a serious groin injury.  :hammer:

FFS surely not, just when we get ourselves a full back.

Lets hope its not too serious and he is back in team shortly
