Kowalski Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 Anyone else going? I can't help but think that Milne will get a slightly easier ride now that he has changed the management team but we'll see what happens. Hopefully some news on the funding for the new stadium. Quote
sooth_stander Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 Aye, as long as I don't get caught up in gridlock on way home on monday night. Milne has an SPL restructuing meeting on monday, either him or Fraser anyway, so will be interesting if either or both make it back in time. Quote
tsr Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 No chance of it being cancelled due to this weather? I think the management team is a side issue and with the stadium now 3-4 years away I would expect to hear signifcantly more about how we plan to pay for it other than last years "funding will be found" statement. More pressing would be the loans/interest arrangements as of March 2011. Quote
tsr Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 "Confident both parties will reach agreement"....that's my prediction. Quote
nellie_boy Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 What happens on the night will depend on how much powder the Trust kept back for the night. Strange notion to meet the week prior to discuss the points from the accounts. If they were notifying the board of the issues they will seek answers to on the night then I can see sense. If it was to accept answers there and then I can see nothing to be gained. It's been all too easy for the board previously gloss over questions from the floor or even simply tryto belittle the questioner. New management team or not I think of all agms in recent years they need to provide some serious answers to serious question marks in relation to te next 5 years, starting now ahead of the renegotiations will the bank in early 2011 Quote
capitalsharpie Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 AGM a week before Christmas? An utterly cynical attempt to ensure as little interest as possible on the atrocious ability of this board of direstors to run a football club in an effective way. Quote
Kowalski Posted December 20, 2010 Author Report Posted December 20, 2010 My street hasn't been gritted and I've been able to move my car for almost a week. I'm not sure I am going to make this tonight! Quote
Tyrant Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 You should have got a Subaru - or else you should live right beside Pittodrie My mate has both. True story. Quote
dave_min Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 My street hasn't been gritted and I've been able to move my car for almost a week. I'm not sure I am going to make this tonight! Why would they grit your street, your car is able to move Quote
Kowalski Posted December 20, 2010 Author Report Posted December 20, 2010 Where is the news coming from that it is off? Quote
mizer Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 I cant see them calling it off, bad weather = less people there to moan and complain Quote
Kowalski Posted December 20, 2010 Author Report Posted December 20, 2010 I cant see them calling it off, bad weather = less people there to moan and complain I agree but my O/P has been edited saying it's off. Quote

manc_don Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 I can confirm it's tea, coffee and shortbread! More people here than I expected. Good, hopefully you'll get some answers from the club. Make sure they don't get an easy ride! Quote
tsr Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Not heard any reports but if I was a betting man i'd say they couldn't get an easier ride if they invited Katy Price. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Not heard any reports but if I was a betting man i'd say they couldn't get an easier ride if they invited Katy Price. The absent Gilbert re-elected. That's not really news though... Quote
Kowalski Posted December 20, 2010 Author Report Posted December 20, 2010 Not a great deal to report: There was a big crowd despite the weatherAll three directors re-elected, with each asked to backup their achievements and hopes for the future (apart from Martin Gilbert who wasn't there); Milne confirming things hadn't quite gone to plan New stadium tenders are out; will go in front of council in February then expected to be called in by the Scottish Government; Hopefully final decision in April (sounds a bit hopeful for the Scottish Government!); Contract to be awarded 1Q 2012; Construction to start 2Q 2012; Finished by start of 2013-2014 seasonStadium to cost approx. £35M; £20M to come from sale of Pittodrie (approx. £17M), mortgage and share issue; Remaining money will be a combination of naming rights, sale/rent of offices inside stadium, and thin airEven if we get relegated, the plan is still to move to Loirston; There is no Plan B!Soccer Academy would cost about £4M and funded separatelyMilne confirmed that the 10 team SPL is AFC's preferred option, seemingly its the only option that works Willie Miller spoke at length with a great deal of passion about the youth development; we now have centres in Dundee, Glasgow and for the first time Edinburgh; He claims we have the best youngsters of any club in Scotland; He also expressed his frustration about the hard time he gets when he is working hard behind the scenes on the youth development; He also says he has been criticised for firing managers but pointed out that he has just hired his 3rd manager in the 6.5 years he has been Director of Football; He spoke very well but he always does compared to MilneMilne confirmed that pay offs for the last management team won't affect the football budgetMiller confirmed that Brown and Knox (who were in attendance) have total control over signings and anything to do with the first team; Hoping to make a couple of signings in JanuaryI got stuck in the snow on my way back Anyway, on to the best quote of the evening. Hugh Little had to take over the proceedings during the re-election of Milne. He confirmed that Brown and Knox both spoke to Fergie before accepting the job at Aberdeen. And to quote Fergie directly, he told Craig Brown that "You won't find a better chairman in British Football!". Presumably it was Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas!? Quote
mizer Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Remaining money will be a combination of naming rights, sale/rent of offices inside stadium, and thin air Great, my pet hate! Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Great, my pet hate! That's a rubbish name for a stadium. Quote
