Did I read they had to replay their last tie due to an ineligible player?  Was against Coldsteam or some shit anyway so not sure what the point would have been.

'MON THE WEE DONS

Not sure if the game was replayed but they won 9-0 against Coldstream.

Aberdeen 2 Livingston 4

Megginson 31, Grimmer 89; McNulty 3, 50, Turner 22, Cummings 60

Aberdeen crashed out of the SFA Youth Cup this afternoon in atrocious conditions at Balgownie. The weather really was terrible and it is questionable whether the match should even have been played but credit to Livinsgton who dealt with the conditions better and thoroughly deserved their victory.

The visitors, who are top of the SFL U19 League and have hardly lost a game all season, got off to the best possible start when on 3 minutes a slip at the back by Shaughnessy allowed in centre forward McNulty who beat Lukasik.

After their poor start the Dons started to come into the game and dominated possession for a while. They had a couple of half chances and Jordon Brown hit the bar with a drive from about 25 yards. Disaster then struck the young Dons as Livie hit on the break. Gray had a race with Jarvis down the wing and when the Northern Ireland youngster mistimed his tackle in the box the referee pointed to the spot. Full back Turner sent Lukasik the wrong way.

The Dons kept going though and deservedly got a goal back just after the half hour mark. Grimmer played a free-kick into the box which the Livingston defence and goalkeeper failed to deal with. Shaughnessy and Robertson rose highest to flick the ball on to Megginson who calmly tapped the ball home.

Both teams had chances before the break, Livingston missing the best one.

After half time Aberdeen came out the stronger side and for the first time in the game really looked on top. They enjoyed the territorial advantage and just when it looked like an equaliser would come Livingston went up the other end and scored to kill the game.

The visitors got in behind the Dons down the flanks, this time the right hand side, and from the cross the unmarked McNulty was on hand to score. Three became four on the hour mark when again Livingston got in behind the Dons back four and midfielder Cummings slotted home.

Livingston has produced some fine young players in recent years including Scotland players Graham Dorrans and Robert Snodgrass. There were a number of their players who caught the eye today.

Neil Cooper made a couple of substitutions with Bolger replacing Sorensen and Gibson replacing Fraser and eventually they started to spark Aberdeen back into live. Gibson from a tight angle put a shot inches past and Bolger on a number of occasions beat his marker and played passes into the box but the ball would just not fall for the Dons strikers.

Livingston missed a couple more chances before Aberdeen again dominated in the final stages and a number of Livie players were struggling with cramp. The Dons again though could not find a way past a determined defence until the 89th minute. From a corner the ball was cleared to Jack Grimmer who finished well from the edge of the box. If the goal had come ten minutes or so before there could have been a grandstand finish but it was too little too late.

A very disappointing afternoon for the U19s.

Team: Lukasik, Grimmer, Jarvis, Hansson, Shaughnessy, Robertson, Sorensen (Bolger 50), Brown, McManus, Megginson, Fraser (Gibson 60) Subs Wilson, McRobbie, Davidson
