BobbyBiscuit Posted March 11, 2011 Author Report Posted March 11, 2011 Ouch, sore one. Who are you playing next? Not actually sure, got a free week. We were on a hiding to nothing, the lad who was supposed to be playing for us put a nail gun through his hand at work yesterday morning. The boy in goals for us was just way out his depth and gave away a penalty after 15 mins or so which didn't help his confidence. We scored at 2-0, were in the ascendancy and then lost a stupid goal and that was that. Quote

tsr Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 Is it still the Polish (?) boy that's in goals. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted March 11, 2011 Author Report Posted March 11, 2011 Is it still the Polish (?) boy that's in goals. I don't think we've ever had a Polish player. Our usual keeper is a Dane. He's great. Quote

BigAl Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 No update for a number of weeks from BB. Does this mean you've got them playing with the free flowing style of Willie Miller's early days in charge and remaining modest about it, or is the team playing about the level of Dingus's days in charge C'mon spill the beans. tsr Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Think they lost 4-2 to a Pars team a few weeks ago I read. Quote

Not been a lot happening in all honesty Al, other than the defeat to Dunfermline we've not been playing much due to one reason or another. The Dunfermline team are a good side, but we lived with them easily enough before losing two incredibly soft goals just before half time. Got a goal back early in the second and we're putting them under the cosh until the ref gave a free kick to them for that well known foul "FUCK ALL" and they scored from the free kick and that was it really. We've got a bit of an issue just now with numbers, last two training sessions we've had the grand total of 6 at each session. Unfortunately some of the lads just don't appreciate that they have to train. We play some great football, always get the ball on the deck and pass it, but we just lack the killer touch which can only come from the cohesion regular training sessions bring. Quote
Tyrant Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 I've always wanted to be involved in a team (no matter how low or high a level they play at) and would thoroughly enjoy training and matches. Unfortunately if my ability isn't in question my fitness certainly is! Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted May 18, 2011 Author Report Posted May 18, 2011 Red Stars 3 Troon IFC 2 Some fantastic football from a strong Red Stars side saw off Troon rather easily even though two late goals for the visitors makes it look a little tighter than the game actually was. Our captain, Gordon got his first of the season with a four yard rocket into the corner after a good flick on from a corner kick. Our new signing Ville from Finland then bagged a brace and we ran out comfortable winners in the end despite losing two daft goals. And after giving the Troon guys a bit of a hard time after the last game, I really need to redress that by adding their manager sent a text to us to say "Well done to your guys tonight, you were comfortably the better team". Which is very sporting of him. And we were very good. COME ON YE REDS!!! :ultras: :AFC2: Quote
Tyrant Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 Sloppy in defence is what I heard. But then they got the break.. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted May 22, 2011 Author Report Posted May 22, 2011 Geordie Munrovers 6 Red Stars 3 After a great result and performance midweek, only 4 players who started that game could make it today. With a goalkeeper and two outfield players making their debut it was always going to be a struggle. We lost a horrendous goal inside a minute from a corner and looked unsettled for the next ten, but after that we grew into the game, and captain for the day Martin started putting in an excellent display of midfield work setting up a couple of chances before "Diet Gordon" sprung clear of the home defence to fire into the top corner from 18 yards. Unfortunately a soft goal was conceded almost straight away and then another defensive lapse caused the third on the stroke of half time. The second half started positively but a plethora of missed chances eventually led to the inevitable of them breaking and getting a fourth from a nothing attack. A fifth soon followed that was allowed to stand despite the fact the scorer was only 5 yards offside. A second was claimed for Red Stars before another debatable goal for Rovers was allowed to stand. The ref chuckling away with his Fife cohorts as they went back to the half way line. The goal of the game came from Red Stars man Stu C as he spun away from two inside his own half and sped into the opposition half. He ran at their defence and two of them claimed for offside (honestly, that's what we were up against today ) and Stu just kept running and went right through them, into the box and finished with great aplomb in the bottom corner. Away to top of the league Livi on Wed. Come on Reds!!!!!!! Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted May 25, 2011 Author Report Posted May 25, 2011 Livi 3 Red Stars 6 (SIX) Great performance by Red Stars, passing and movement was superb and our backline were on top throughout. A few tremendously worked goals helped stamp our authority on the game and a few of the Livi lads had the good grace to let us know we are the best side they've come up against this season. Hopefully the lads can take this into Sunday when we play in a tournament down in Troon (get your boots on BigAl! ) Quote
