Jute Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 Final straw for me will not be attending. Quote
BigAl Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 Always thought we'd get the Sunday slot. Bit of a bummer for those with distance to travel and nae even a chance to get a pint before kick off Quote
jmo Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 That's really early for Aberdeen fans to have to leave. Working Sundays at the moment so that probably rules me out unless I try and get it off. Not really sure if it's worth it for another game against Celtic. Quote
RDU_64 Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 Shite. No sure if I will make this one as my dissertation is due for the 28th of April but maybe manage a quick trip up and doon yet. We'll see but Sunday kick off at 12:15pm is shite regardless of the occasion. Quote
caledonia Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Fucking disgrace as usual cater for the TV and the old firm and fuck everyone else. Quote
coopy100 Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Shall not be going even if I am at home then. Quote
manc_don Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Tv or radio for me, got an exam not long after so need to hit the books. Absolutely shite that its a Sunday. Quote
tsr Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 The first train doesn't even get in to Glasgow from Aberdeen until 12:15 at Glasgow Queen Street. Its actually gone beyond a joke, I reckon it will knock a few thousand of the crowd, yes they'll cover that with their TV dosh but they won't make up for the lack of volume from the Aberdeen support. Can imagine a lot of reds were unsure whether to go after what happened last time and this will decide it for them. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 The first train doesn't even get in to Glasgow from Aberdeen until 12:15 at Glasgow Queen Street. That is a fucking disgrace. Does absolutely no one think about these things at all? It is just basic common sense for goodness sake. Quote
quirie Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 I'll be there. More because im organising a bus down or i might of made a cheeky weekend in glasgow of it so i didnt need to get up hoora early Quote
Azteca1903 Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 I'll be there, but only because of locality. If I was in Aberdeen I doubt I'd bother and I'm sure many won't, which is a great shame for the team. Quote
dave_min Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 I'll be there because it's a semi-final, why anyone who could go wouldn't go is beyond me. Be making a weekend of it though, arsed with getting a bus down at 7am Sunday morning. Quote
tom_widdows Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 I really hope this doesnt turn into a 'If you aint going then yer a dick' bitchfest like the 2000 cup semi final with hibs (sunday 1805pm kick off I believe so only about 5-6000 dons fans made it down) Quote
Graeme_S Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 does anyone know why it has to be a 12:45 kick off for TV? Is it because there are there games later that day that can't run at the same time? I'm gonna be in Scotland that weekend, so was looking forward to actually getting to one of our semi's, but there's no chance of me making it through to Glasgow for that time. Quote

Because on the same day there is an FA cup semi final plus Arsenal V liverpool both kicking off at 4pm. If our semi goes to extra time and penalties then it would be finished by about 330pm just in time to switch over. Quote
Madbadteacher Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 So we're being inconveninced by football in another country run by another association? Whoop-dee-doo, maybe Blatter's right we don't deserve a seperate SFA if this is GENUINELY why our game is at such a fucking stupid time! Quote
manc_don Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Because its on sky, not got anything to do with the FA mbt. Quote
tom_widdows Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 No we are being inconvenienced by being sky television's bitches. As far as I see it Sky TV would not be the global bastard it is now if it did not have its football coverage. If sky lost the english premiership & Fa Cup etc I reckon they would go the way of setanta very quickly so they will bend over backwards to keep them smug but there is distinct grumblings amongst some english fans (lower leagues especially) about such classic past re- scheduling as moving Newcastle vs Plymouth, Brighton vs Middlesborough, carlisle vs Exeter etc from a saturday 3pm to a Monday, wednesday or Friday night. Until the major leagues realise the TV companies do actually need them more than the clubs need TV this sort of shite will continue to happen. Quote
caledonia Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 What I was trying to say on other posts that slowly blanket English football on TV was killing the Scottish game. I know we all love watching the big games down south but i don't think any other country would arrange a game to suit another football association. Quote
mizer Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 The first train doesn't even get in to Glasgow from Aberdeen until 12:15 at Glasgow Queen Street. It also highlights the utter shambles of a public transport system we have in this country. Quote
