Boxing Day - kick-off 3pm

Scottish Premiership - Kilmarnock v Aberdeen

Until the major leagues realise the TV companies do actually need them more than the clubs need TV this sort of shite will continue to happen.

It's a catch 22 that one is it not? The EPL needs Sky money to stay afloat and Sky need the EPL to stay afloat. It will not bother the english clubs one bit that Aberdeen or any other teams fans from another league are being fucked about in such a shameful manner as they will continue to rake the cash in. They don't even care enough about their own fans when it comes to the scheduling of their matches that will be on TV. They need Sky and Sky needs them. This won't change and both know it is in their best interests too keep the other party happy most of the time.

What I was trying to say on other posts that slowly blanket English football on TV was killing the Scottish game.

I know we all love watching the big games down south but i don't think any other country would arrange a game to suit another football association.

It's to suit Sky, not the FA.

Exactly, its more embarrassing how crap our public transport is. The British are in the unique situation of speaking the same language as each other whilst still having separate leagues, and thus sky prospered. You don't get this situation anywhere else. Its beyond me how some folk can argue it is the fa's fault. If anything its the sfa's for not marketting their football better !

Because celtic have a huge support and they don't want to split their tv viewings.....if you see the barb ratings old firm games, regardless of opposition, always get good viewings, sometimes more than championship games.

Why i said this - What I was trying to say on other posts that slowly blanket English football on TV was killing the Scottish game.

Does it matter who it is to suit it is still to the detrimental effect of Scottish football

Anyway i think most will agree it suits both the English FA and SKY TV

Suits AFC and the SFA too. Only people it doesn't suit are us - the Aberdeen fans.

Got it off work, I'm in now. Sort of looking forward to it as although I think Aberdeen will almost definitely lose it really is the only game left this season which holds much meaning.

OF games must get more viewers than championship games? I'd say neither would get very many neutral viewers and the OF have a hell of a lot more supporters than all championship teams and most EPL teams.

Possibly depends on the Championship game. Some teams, like Leeds Utd, may have a bigger UK pull than either of the Old Firm. Whilst the OF are popular up here the impression I've got when in England is that no-one cares, despite the obligatory mention of it on the weather the day before or the small interview on Football Focus where the pundits make a prediction whilst looking like they care about the game less than even I do.

OK THEN IT SUITS BOTH SKY AND THE ENGLISH FA

But as you said in another post blanket English football is a good thing - try telling that to the thousands of Aberdeen fans either annoyed by the kick off time or the 3-5 thousand it will knock off the gate because they cant go.

Of course the time will knock a few off the gate, but both the club and the SFA will make more money because of SKY. Also, more Dons fans will get to see the game if it's shown live on TV.

The first train doesn't even get in to Glasgow from Aberdeen until 12:15 at Glasgow Queen Street.

Its actually gone beyond a joke, I reckon it will knock a few thousand of the crowd, yes they'll cover that with their TV dosh but they won't make up for the lack of volume from the Aberdeen support.  Can imagine a lot of reds were unsure whether to go after what happened last time and this will decide it for them.

(Apart from Brechin) Aberdeen is the only team that fans, travelling from the home city/town, cannot go by train directly to Hampden (Mount Florida) in time for kick-off on a Sunday. If the first train from Aberdeen to Glasgow Queen Street is on time (weekend usual time for engineering works) and arrives at 1211, then all fans will then have the expense of a taxi out to Hampden. Fucking disgrace  :hammer:

According to 'trainline' Motherwell, Dundee and Perth all have several trains to get their (fewer) fans to Glasgow/Hampden. It's a conspiracy!  ;)

Please find attached your ticket order form for the above game. Tickets will be on sale soon but a significant number will be held back for Supporters Clubs.

Please note that blocks A1-A5 of the West Stand will be a dedicated family area and if you are ordering any tickets there then there must be at most 2 adults for every child ticket ordered. Unlike with the Co-op Cup Semi Final there will be no child prices available in the non family section of the West Stand. Please note that the family section will be a quieter area and if you would prefer to be seated in a ‘singing section’ it would be recommended that you sit in the non family area. We are trying to keep the family section to individual family groups as much as possible and individual adult tickets will not be available in this area.

I would respectfully request that all orders are submitted by Monday 4th April at 5pm either by telephoning 01224 631903, e-mail at supporters@afc.co.uk or by returning the order form by mail to Ticket Office, Pittodrie Stadium, Aberdeen, AB24 5QH. Please note, if you need to cancel any tickets which you have ordered, you must let us know before Wednesday 13 April or you may be charged for the tickets.

Please indicate on the order form if you wish your tickets to be posted or collected, by ticking the appropriate box.  Please add the postage fee of £1 to your total remittance if you want the tickets posted and you have not sent in a stamped addressed envelope.

Thanks for your continued co-operation and support.
