Stewart
Confirmed as leaving at the end of the season. Will surely do a Skovdahl and leave in a few weeks?
Tyrant
That's superb news for anyone that supports Dundee United.
Jute
That's superb news for anyone that supports Dundee United. Is what the Arab in my work said when I mentioned it to him. He hopes they reach agreement for him to fuck off now so as they can appoint McInnes.

mizer
Barry Smith and Dundee have parted - cant see a new manager being able to change much but I suppose they have to try.
manc_don
Surprised it took them this long, but as you say, doubtful a new manager will be able to change much. Will be interesting to see who they get in though.
bloo_toon_red
Barry Smith deserves the freedom of Dundee for keeping them in the First Division a couple of years ago. And given the lack of time he had to prepare his team for the SPL it's no surprise that they're so far adrift at the bottom. Pretty harsh in my opinion. CtS
Agree, think he can leave with his head held high. Interested to see who's brave / daft enough to take that job on.

CtS
Possible I suppose, he can't lose really can he? Either inevitable relegation, or miracle survival. JIG is God.

bloo_toon_red
Dundee have had some real managerial horrors over the years. They just never seem to get it right. Stainrod, Bonetti et al. They've had plenty of chances to get someone actually pretty good. They should be a big club in the Scottish context but have been so badly run for the last 20 years. John Brown was a shite player, a worse manager and proved what we all thought of his uber-hun tendencies last year. I feel sorry for Dundee fans. There were some decent names in contention, but they made a massive mistake sacking Smith in the first place. WHAURSATITLEDEEDS!
CtS
I'd be fucking fuming if I was a Dundee fan. 'Bomber' Brown, no class, no idea, no thanks.

Jute
Quoted by many for us, worth a look? No. Rovers fan in the work was more than happy when he left for Hearts. Hearts fans I know did not like the style of football being played long before the cuts started as well.

mizer
HEARTS have compiled a shortlist for their vacant manager’s job which contains several names, including John Robertson, Peter Houston and Derek McInnes. The Tynecastle hierarchy are looking to appoint a permanent replacement for John McGlynn, who severed ties with the club last week. Talks are due to take place with all relevant candidates over the next 48 hours. The new man could potentially be in place before Sunday’s Edinburgh derby at Easter Road, although no definite timescale has been set for an appointment. Gary Locke and Darren Murray remain as interim managers for now and will prepare the squad to face Hibs following last night’s 2-0 win over St Johnstone.
