Stewart Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 Confirmed as leaving at the end of the season. Will surely do a Skovdahl and leave in a few weeks? Quote
Tyrant Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 That's superb news for anyone that supports Dundee United. Quote
Jute Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 That's superb news for anyone that supports Dundee United. Is what the Arab in my work said when I mentioned it to him. He hopes they reach agreement for him to fuck off now so as they can appoint McInnes. Quote
Madbadteacher Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 McGhee to the Arabs? Pretty please? Quote
Jute Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Got to assume that they have reached agreement with one of the managers approached at the end of last week then. Quote
mizer Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Barry Smith and Dundee have parted - cant see a new manager being able to change much but I suppose they have to try. Quote
manc_don Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Surprised it took them this long, but as you say, doubtful a new manager will be able to change much. Will be interesting to see who they get in though. Quote
bloo_toon_red Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Barry Smith deserves the freedom of Dundee for keeping them in the First Division a couple of years ago. And given the lack of time he had to prepare his team for the SPL it's no surprise that they're so far adrift at the bottom. Pretty harsh in my opinion. Quote
CtS Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Agree, think he can leave with his head held high. Interested to see who's brave / daft enough to take that job on. Quote

CtS Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Possible I suppose, he can't lose really can he? Either inevitable relegation, or miracle survival. JIG is God. Quote
Madbadteacher Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 John fucking Brown to Dundee? WTF Quote
BigAl Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 John fucking Brown to Dundee? WTF Odious CUNT of the highest order. Wonder if he has seen the deeds to Dens Quote
BigAl Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 Rumours that Bummer Brown's been punted already. Yous buy the pieeeees!!!!!!! fucking hope so.....the good people of Dundee don't deserve that Hun prick forced on them Quote
bloo_toon_red Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 Dundee have had some real managerial horrors over the years. They just never seem to get it right. Stainrod, Bonetti et al. They've had plenty of chances to get someone actually pretty good. They should be a big club in the Scottish context but have been so badly run for the last 20 years. John Brown was a shite player, a worse manager and proved what we all thought of his uber-hun tendencies last year. I feel sorry for Dundee fans. There were some decent names in contention, but they made a massive mistake sacking Smith in the first place. WHAURSATITLEDEEDS! Quote
CtS Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 I'd be fucking fuming if I was a Dundee fan. 'Bomber' Brown, no class, no idea, no thanks. Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted February 28, 2013 Report Posted February 28, 2013 McGlynn gone. lol Quoted by many for us, worth a look? Quote
Jute Posted February 28, 2013 Report Posted February 28, 2013 Quoted by many for us, worth a look? No. Rovers fan in the work was more than happy when he left for Hearts. Hearts fans I know did not like the style of football being played long before the cuts started as well. Quote
Kowalski Posted February 28, 2013 Author Report Posted February 28, 2013 Livingston have sacked Gareth Evans, and John Collins has resigned because of the boards decision to sack Evans! Quote
mizer Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 HEARTS have compiled a shortlist for their vacant manager’s job which contains several names, including John Robertson, Peter Houston and Derek McInnes. The Tynecastle hierarchy are looking to appoint a permanent replacement for John McGlynn, who severed ties with the club last week. Talks are due to take place with all relevant candidates over the next 48 hours. The new man could potentially be in place before Sunday’s Edinburgh derby at Easter Road, although no definite timescale has been set for an appointment. Gary Locke and Darren Murray remain as interim managers for now and will prepare the squad to face Hibs following last night’s 2-0 win over St Johnstone. Quote
