Fixture announcement

 

The SPL today announced new dates for four matches in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.

 

St Johnstone's home game against Rangers - postponed on December 29 - now goes ahead on Tuesday 5 April, live on ESPN at 6pm. The early kick-off is because UEFA prohibit domestic matches being screened up against Champions League and Europa League ties.

 

St Johnstone face Celtic the following Tuesday, April 12, also at 6pm on ESPN, in a match that was due to be played on Scottish Cup semi-final weekend.

 

The fixture between Aberdeen and Rangers - displaced by the Co-operative Insurance Cup final last weekend - has been rearranged for Wednesday 13 April at 7.45pm but will not be televised.

 

Finally, the twice-postponed Rangers v St Mirren clash will be played on Saturday April 16.

 

New dates for the two matches still outstanding -between Dundee United and Rangers and Kilmarnock and Celtic - will be confirmed shortly.

The Scottish Premier League has announced its first six o'clock midweek fixtures, involving Celtic and Rangers in games at St Johnstone.

 

The re-arranged matches have been moved to the earlier time because they are live on television and cannot clash with Champions League coverage.

 

Scottish champions Rangers are the visitors to McDiarmid Park for the first 1800 BST kick-off, on 5 April, with the league leaders Celtic travelling to Perth the following Tuesday.

 

The SPL has announced re-arranged dates for two other postponed fixtures.

 

Rangers will face Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Wednesday 13 April with a 1945 BST kick-off.

 

And Walter Smith's side will be at home St Mirren three days later, with a 1500 BST kick-off for the Saturday fixture.

 

As if the Broxden Roundabout wasnt bad enough between 430-630pm. Police are really going to enjoy that one

Nah, its what happens when there is a Champions League contract between UEFA and all associations, not allowed to show domestic matches at the same time as CL games on TV.
