Tyrant Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Who will be the new captain? With Hartley retiring and Dimond leaving (fingers crossed) we'll need a new captain and vice captain. I won't bother making a poll because I'll probably miss folk oot. I'm going for Milsom. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Milsom, or maybe one of our new signings Quote
Tyrant Posted May 13, 2011 Author Report Posted May 13, 2011 Milsom, or maybe one of our new signings Do you specifically mean Richard Foster or Darren Mackie? Quote
manc_don Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Milsom for me, first to sign, has shown commitment and I don't read any silly stories about him in the press. Quote
Kowalski Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Milsom for me, first to sign, has shown commitment and I don't read any silly stories about him in the press. That's because he's got a super injuction in place. Quote
Jute Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Not convinced any of the current players who are saying have shown much to suggest they are captain material and would think that Captain for next year will be one of the new signings. Quote
tlg1903 Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Milsom? Really? Very good player but have seen no evidence that he's captain material whatsoever. I think our new captain is currently not on our books Quote

Madbadteacher Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Grant Munro According to gossip I have heard Quote
tlg1903 Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 I actually wouldnt be adverse to signing grant munro, good experienced pro that would be a positive influence on the kids. I also know for a fact that munro is an aberdeen fan. Quote
manc_don Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 We could do worse, howcome they released him ? Quote
Jute Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 We could do worse, howcome they released him ? Becuase they believe he is not the sort of player they need to take them on to the next level and they are right. Not the sort of player we should be looking at. No better than what we currently have. Quote
Tyrant Posted May 13, 2011 Author Report Posted May 13, 2011 We could do worse, howcome they released him ? Because he's not good enough. Exactly the reason why we shouldn't sign him. Quote

BobbyBiscuit Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 We could do worse, howcome they released him ? word is that Butcher thinks he's too slow. Anyone remember Butcher being a whippet at centre half...? Quote

tlg1903 Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 word is that Butcher thinks he's too slow. Anyone remember Butcher being a whippet at centre half...? Exactly, butcher is a bit of a spacker inside sources tell me. Malpas is the key man at ict. General consensus from ict fans i have spoken to is that getting rid of munro makes as much sense as us letting foster go to der hun on loan. Quote

I always thought Malpas was a cock-end from what some folk have said about his management style. Obviously a very good coach though. Quote

Not the sort of player we should be looking at. No better than what we currently have. http://community.caleythistleonline.com/topic/22087-grant-must-stay/page__st__50 Most of the ICT fans seem in agreement that they want to keep Munro. My level of a 'good' centre back has been eroded with the shite Aberdeen have had, Diamond, Byrne, Bus, Duff, Ifil etc. Munro has to be a step up on the current level of centre backs we have. Back on topic though, with the excepion of possibly Foster and Milsom, I can't see any of the current squad being captain. Dont think I could even see any of them being captain material either though. New captain with one of the new signings for me. Quote
dave_min Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 None of them. Milsom has now played 35 games in his entire career. There's no way he's captain material (yet) Quote
dickofthedons Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 From who we have in the squad at the minute (presuming Dimond is gone) I'd go for Langfield, Foster and Milson, in that order - Depending if the first two are here or not Quote
