Kowalski Posted May 17, 2011 Report Posted May 17, 2011 ‘I’ll put an entertaining Aberdeen FC team on the park’ Craig Brown’s pledge to fans By Sean Wallace Published: 17/05/2011 CRAIG Brown today vowed to win back the stay-away Red Army, by giving them a “winning” team at Aberdeen FC. The average attendance at Pittodrie in the 2010/11 season was a lowly 9,129. It was the first time since the SPL began in 1998 that figure has dropped below the 10,000 mark. The Red Army exodus saw the average attendance fall by 1,332 from last season’s 10,461. Quote
manc_don Posted May 17, 2011 Report Posted May 17, 2011 I think thats a lie! It must have been lower than that. Quote
Rebus30 Posted May 17, 2011 Report Posted May 17, 2011 that number seems very generous . . .maybe he was reading the number upside and it shoulda been 6216 . . . Quote
invernessreds Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 The match stats we have, the average home gate was 9,071 (SPL matches only). There has always been massaging of the season ticket attendance into official home gates - but technically it's a paid seat. Quote
glasgow sheep Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 Lowest crowds in years (I'll have to consult my "Roar of the Crowd" book to see when they were last as low as this but I'm thinking a long, LONG time ago) So what do the board do? Increase ST and Pay on the gate prices Quote
Tyrant Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 Lowest crowds in years (I'll have to consult my "Roar of the Crowd" book to see when they were last as low as this but I'm thinking a long, LONG time ago) So what do the board do? Increase ST and Pay on the gate prices The increase covers the increase in VAT and nothing more? Quote
