glasgow sheep Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Brechin City 1-3 Aberdeen 30.06.2011 Brechin City 1-3 Aberdeen 7.45pm kick off. Glebe Park Mckenna 54 Megginson 9 Bengondo 37 Mackie45 The Dons kicked off at Glebe Park with 6 trialists in the starting line up but despite this the new look team passed the ball about well and played some good football. Mitch Megginson opened the scoring after only 5 minutes, Bengondo showed great strength in the box and was unlucky not to find Mackie, but Brechin failed to clear and Megginson placed the ball past Craig Nelson. A great cross from right back Jason Beardsley sent up Bengondo for the 2nd. The powerful striker did well to get ahead of Nelson and headed into the net. The Dons scored their 3rd on the stroke of half-time, Peter Pawlett showed great pace and left his marker for dead and set up Mackie who coolly placed the ball into the net. Brechin's hard work was rewarded in the 54 minute when they pulled a deserved goal goal back through McKenna. As the game worn on both sides began to make substutions and the game as a contest was over. The Dons trialists will now have to wait and see if they've done enough to claim a place on the flight to the Netherlands this weekend. Full match report to follow. Team: Oldfield, Beardsley, Shaughnessy, Nunez, Robertson, Megginson, Ashmore, Galdos, Pawlett, Bengondo, Mackie Subs: Jones, Brown, Grimmer, Paton, Magennis, Low. http://www.afc.co.uk/javaImages/12/4/0,,10284~9765906,00.jpg[/img] http://www.afc.co.uk/javaImages/7/4/0,,10284~9765895,00.jpg[/img] http://www.afc.co.uk/javaImages/a/4/0,,10284~9765898,00.jpg[/img] http://www.afc.co.uk/javaImages/c/4/0,,10284~9765900,00.jpg[/img] http://www.afc.co.uk/javaImages/d/4/0,,10284~9765901,00.jpg[/img] http://www.afc.co.uk/javaImages/10/4/0,,10284~9765904,00.jpg[/img] Quote

Penfold Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 First shot was over the stand. Some comical attempts at heading the ball. Outshone in every department by Mackie. Dazzler was even breaking out the skills with some flicks and turns. Quote
