Leigh Griffiths has played his last game for Hibs after head-butting manager Pat Fenlon and then punching assistant Billy Brown in an astonishing training ground bust-up on Tuesday.

The on-loan Wolves star is understood to have taken exception to comments made by the Easter Road manager at the Ormiston complex.

It seems the 21-year-old striker, who is on loan until the end of the season, was disgusted at being singled out for criticism over recent displays and simply blew a fuse. The flashpoint came at the end of a stormy training session in the aftermath of Sunday’s derby defeat to Hearts.

Sportsmail understands several Hibs players had to be pulled apart earlier in the day before being addressed by Fenlon.

When Fenlon’s attention turned to Griffiths, the player snapped and butted the Irishman, knocking his glasses off.

After the ugly altercation, the Scotland Under-21 star marched off in the direction of the changing rooms hotly pursued by  Fenlon’s assistant Brown. Griffiths is then said to have landed a punch on Brown which knocked over the former Hearts No 2.

He then raced to the changing room where he emptied his locker and sped off.

It’s understood a number of squad members have been unhappy with Fenlon’s training methods and match preparation.

It seems certain Griffiths will now return to Molineux despite the two months left on his loan deal.

The extraordinary flare up will have fans questioning the authority of former Bohemians manager Fenlon has over his squad with just eight games remaining.

Absolutely fucking brilliant

The rat faced little runt appeared as if he was finding a bit of form, and reckoned he could give us some problems in the semi final.

Looking at the bigger picture, the HIVS appear to have more than a few problems. Would imagine Jeffries will create a new manager bounce at Dunfermline. These could be troubling times down Easter Road way

Great news for the semi final.  Hopefully Hibs shite run continues and the pars get a bit of a bounce too.  The one upside of being in the bottom six is we could relegate one these two.

I would only be happy relegating hibs, I have a real soft spot for the pars.

Hibs about to have their annual post-xmas collapse in form?

HIBERNIAN have suffered a massive blow after being told they cannot extend the loan spell of striker Leigh Griffiths.

Wolves manager Stale Solbakken has confirmed that he has no interest in letting Hibs keep Griffiths on when the loan expires in January.

Even though Griffiths is not in the plans of Solbakken, Wolves want a permanent cash deal.

And if cash-strapped Hibs can't find the money to sign him then  Wolves will look to sell him to another club. Solbakken said: "We will  try and get some money out of it. It would be stupid otherwise as he's  out of contract at the end of the season. When someone wants something maybe they will get a Christmas gift! So you never know what will happen. We will see. But at the moment I don't know of any other interest in him."

I hate myself for this, but yes, we should.

Whilst I agree, we have no fucking chance

If he isn't at the Hivs, then would imagine only other in Scotland would be the bog munchers
