Azteca1903
Scottish Cup fourth-round draw Airdrie United v Dundee United Arbroath v Rangers Cowdenbeath v Hibernian Culter or Partick Thistle v Queen of the South Dundee v Kilmarnock Falkirk v East Fife Hearts v Auchinleck Talbot Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Dunfermline Athletic Livingston v Ayr United or Montrose Motherwell v Elgin City or Queen's Park Peterhead v Celtic Raith Rovers v Morton Ross County v Stenhousemuir St Mirren v Hamilton Academical St Johnstone v Brechin City Stranraer or Forfar Athletic v Aberdeen Ties to be played 7/8 January Not the most exiting of draw. Talbot at Tyncastle gives a bit of novelty value, St J v Brechin produced a couple of cracking games last season and potentially tricky games for United and Killie but otherwise fairly uninspiring. Definitely, the first game was one of the best cup ties I've seen in a long time. Was hoping for a few all-SPL ties to clear the way for us a bit - and I do appreciate the futility of this wish given that Stranraer/Forfar will probably pump us. glasgow sheep
Full set of fixtures for this weekend. Best potential for a shock? The two Edinburgh clubs in particular crowds are very poor. Hearts only would have had about 6,500 if you take away the Auchinleck support, and the HIVS more than a 1,000 less than at our game for what was a very short trip for them. manc_don
It looked like there were works / sections of the ground closed yesterday at the HIVs game, but couldn't really tell. Still, pretty depressing reading! The crowd at Dens was pathetic, even if it was on TV.

dave_min
Other than Hearts and Motherwell, can any of the ground even hold 10,000? Nae great crowds, but a bit harsh criticising people for not making the 3 hour journey for a midday kickoff for a game on council telly. Did we manage to sell out our end btw? Did we manage to sell out our end btw? 10000+ stadia Hearts Motherwell Dundee St Johnstone Partick Airdrie Livingston Ill admit not making the 5 figures target is affected by the draw but when only 2 games make it to more than 50% capacity including an all spl tie then more questions need to be asked As for our end the seating was sold out and the terracing was almost full but not so much that you felt claustraphobic. Probably could have squeezed in another 100-200 dons fans. Just a pity we arent seen as enough of a draw for the local glory hunters for forfar to sell out their end. The home terracing behind the goal was a depressing sight

Well if they said it was going to be at Tyncastle then yes. I can't imagine that at any time in the last 10years that there would have been a significant difference in numbers. Largely an insipid draw. Hibs, Aberdeen, United, Rantic all away from home at lower league, and small grounds (Broadwood excepted). ST not valid in the main and in a lot of ties bigger side at home against shite opposition so not huge incentive to get down to the ground. In any case a fairer judgement would be to compare the crowds to average home crowds Hearts vs Auchinleck 8,895 (66% average crowd) Arbroath vs Rangers 5,895 (777% average crowd) Peterhead vs Celtic 4,505 (882% average crowd) Motherwell vs Queens Park 4,286 (74% average crowd) Forfar vs Aberdeen 3,747 (689% average crowd) Dundee vs Kilmarnock 3,446 (76% average crowd)) St Mirren vs Hamilton 3,091 (64% average crowd) Cowdenbeath vs Hibernian 2,670 (714% average crowd) Falkirk vs East Fife 2,475 (73% average crowd) St Johnstone vs Brechin 2,467 (67% average crowd) Partick vs Queen of the south 2,454 (98% average crowd) Airdrie Utd vs Dundee Utd 2,434 (277% average crowd) Inverness caley vs Dunfermline 1,601 (37% average crowd) Raith Rovers vs Morton 1,581 (76% average crowd) Ross County vs Stenhousemuir 1,421 (56% average crowd) Livingston vs Ayr United 932 ( 56% average crowd) So from that lot you could say average crowds are shite this year but that's hardly new or surprising. Only poorish crowds I would say are Livi and County - County always seem to have poor cup crowds but as they are doing so well you would have thought they would have got a few more folk in but how many Stenny fans will have travelled? - and the ICT crowd but again who wants to go see ICT v Dunfermline for one of 5 meetings this season. Dundee game would have had another 2-3000 if it wasn't on TV while if hibs had been any good recently they would have taken a few more but still reasonable attendances.
